Not in the least. It's one of those things I care less about than cleaning the dryer lint trap.

Stereotyping gives us a basic foundation to work from. Whether or not a person breaks their stereotype is up to them, but they do exist for a reason: They're typical of their stereotype.

Not sure I can be stereotyped. I'm fairly unhinged on all levels and tend to go my own way on most matters. I take an extreme left-wing approach to stuff here on this board, mostly because I can, and it's fun. But it doesn't necessarily reflect how I actually feel. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. Most of the time I truly don't care at all about politics. I can change my mind or opinion on anything on the fly, and I try not to dwell on shit. On the surface, I'm heavily tattooed, but also well dressed and groomed. I listen to all types of music, I like all types of food. I came from the cold, but I enjoy the hot weather. I hate holiday gatherings and crowds in general, but love to be out & about. I'm polite and usually quiet & reserved in person, but have no problem telling anyone to "fuck off" if it's deserved. Always willing to share (or "creatively" share) experiences and whatnot, but the things I do keep personal stays that way. I don't get too close to anyone nor allow anyone to get too close to me, as I've learned my lessons the hard way. I'm athiest, hate carrots, and regularly do laundry & dishes & all the cleaning. I don't fish, hunt, gamble, or participate in ritual "guy" crap like that. I don't watch sports or go to Nascar, I don't hang out at bars, I'm not a pimpin' Bro, I don't wear bling, I don't go to clubs, I don't go to webmaster conventions and I tend to stop writing when I get bored.

So, I don't know. Call me whatever you want. Does it matter? :)

On semi-anonymous global forums like this one and others, no way. There's always going to be people that argue, some just for the sake of argument. It's pretty consistent too, even on widely varying forum premises. Porn, tech, general, etc..... all have a low ratio of "friends" you will make to people you just have to endure, until you start getting into the lighter premises like cooking and such. Those tend to be much friendlier. But GFY? You need body armor here. :winkwink:

Stereotyping would bother me if I was ashamed to be a member of a commonly stereotyped group.

If you don't want to carry the burden of your group, then leave it. Bleach your skin if you are black. Get cosmetic surgery if you are a hillbilly. Accept Jesus if you are a jew.

quoted for truth :thumbsup

Political correctness has failed to realize that stereotypes exist for a reason and it only becomes harmful if you approach them with a closed mind. If you view a stereotype as a fact for everyone in that group.

not really
