Why do people that Leave GFY..
 

to Venture off into other business's have to leave GFY completely?
I thought we were all friends here.

Why can't you do other business's and still come here to Chat?

That's an excellent point. It's what I'm doing here. I may run a promo or something here in the future, but for the most part, chatting is all I do here. :)

GFY is the only forum I post on.

I guess youtube counts too, but thats it.

Because if you are working in adult, there is an excuse to waste time on a adult related forum. If you leave adult there is no longer a excuse you can give your self.

I don't do much of anything in adult anymore, but I stop by here once or twice a month to check things out. Just not the same need to be informed as when I was running adult sites.

I come here for fun and to chat to people I know, since this was always a TGP forum when it first started, nobody had any interest in any of my projects, but it's always been fun here chatting with everyone.

They don't have to :)
And most of them still visit GFY :)

And don't forget they must start a thread saying goodbye forever, no one really cares yet we all wish them luck.

He/she can post a few posts every day.

Leaving GFY = navigating to another website.
Leaving GFY Forever = navigating to another website for a few more days.
Leaving GFY Forever, For Real! = navigating back to GFY and not posting for a few more days.

If I ever leave GFY there are two thing I am pretty sure of. I won't say anything about it I would just be not here. The second is that no one would notice...........I think that's probably a bad thing LOL

Had a 2 year hiatus from here. Actually, it was nice.... and after the first month or so, I completely forgot GFY existed at all. Wasn't until early this year or late last year that I came back to see what was going on, and decided to hang out for a while.

Usually when i've left somewhere I still have people on my messenger list so any chat carries on there.

90% of my business has nothing to do with adult anymore, but I'm still here.

This has been my sandbox for the past 8 years and I'll continue to visit and chat even if that last 10% goes bye bye.

If I went back to my previous "brick and mortar" I would simply not have any time left
to surf GFY. No way!

Half the board is Juicy's bots talking to themselves. The rest are generally trolls and idiots.. note that there's a big section which matches all of the above.

I still check in. Never left just don't post as much anymore :)

i will post here once in awhile, till gfy goes completely tits up. it's just a bit of fun. when i went to s.e. for 6 months with out a computer, i didn't post at all. but of course, you end up coming back to see what is up.

Sure.... back in the early days of GFY, I was hawking design work along with the chat, and was moderator here for a while too when I worked for Adult / Playboy.. :)

If you aren't in the biz, there is really no point to regularly post anymore.. there are 10x better ways to spend your time... unless you just stop by once in a while to see what's new in the biz...

It beats sitting in front of the tv all day.

the question is "why do people stay here?" It's about 4% business, and 96% hysteria, anger and hatred. GFY is some kind of strange online group therapy board that gives a release for all those folks failing in this downward spiraling business. I don't think I've ever read a thread here that didn't have some insane negative nasty hatefull comments. It's just one big angry mind fuck. I guess it's better to release the anger here, than in the real world.

I stopped posting and wont be posting again till the climate changes here or until I need something. I will continue to log in from time to time to see what is going on, not the bs but actual industry news or to find out which company has gone out of business most recently.

First of all spending time on here arguing with other people about current events, politics, religion, sports, is just retarded. I have been at fault of doing this a few times myself, then feel like an idiot because it is such a waste of time. I would rather be working out, spending time with friends or even watching tv vs arguing with people about bull shit. But even business debates are worthless and a waste of time. I see people who have no clue about cam sites saying how MFC will be the end of ppm sites blah blah. Why even try to educate someone who knows nothing about cams but thinks they have all the answers? What is the point? Why waste your time arguing with people to help them, save your time, spend it working more and let everyone think cams are dead, more money for people like me... just an example of many of the business "discussions".

Too many people on here are looking to argue about everything now, even in threads when you looking to hire someone. Also sickening to see the ass kissing with the big tube sites and the way this industry is eating itself from the inside out. There is so many things wrong with this industry and GFY has a little of all of it posting here.

Maybe I will come back and contribute more once all of the idiots are weeded out and hopefully the scammers go with them. Until then I'll just post when I need something and try to avoid the nonsense.

In case I dont post again for several months... here is a little prediction. Webmaster boards and adult conventions will be hurting big time over the next year. I bet GFY makes 1/2 of the income of 2009 in 2010. I bet several shows close up in 2010 and don't come back in 2011. With all of the companies closing, and the ones left not advertising their webmaster program to affiliates there will be a LOT less advertising dollars being spent at shows and on webmaster forums. That is pretty much all that is advertised on them, trying to get affiliates. it's common sense, what do you think is going to happen when a lot of companies go out of business and a lot of the ones left don't have big budgets to spend trying attract affiliates...

There was a time when this place was more biz oriented but nowadays this is just a place to hang out and do "occasional biz stuff" ... I don't come here to learn or to strike deals, there are better forums for that kinda stuff..

This place has about 1/4 the utilies it used too. That being said, it is just as useful to post here as it is to hit 10 other boards. Everything is recurculated in minutes anyways if it's news worthy.
