What system do you use for automated backups?

There is soo much stuff out there. I am looking for some recommendations.
I want to do regular backups of my PC to an external HD, possibly only replacing files that have been added, deleted or modified.
recommendations appreciated :)

SuperDuper, if you're on a Mac.

Cobian Backup

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, but I wouldn't recommend it to a normal single user :|

Acronis is the best tool I've used. I've restored complete systems in 10 minutes.

Combo Time Machine (Mac) and Carbon Copy Cloner (Mac). Done. :2 cents:

Acronis True Image for backup software.

I use a ReadyNAS 4tb Raid. It makes no sense to back up to single drive. A RAID gives you protection against a failed drive.

RAID also takes much longer to restore. A single drive scheme works great as long as you don't rely on a single copy. Drive failure? Unplug, replug replacement, re-run a new clone on a new drive when you have time..... done.

I used a RAID system until a drive actually failed once, and took 3 days to restore. Fuck that noise.

Yeah single drive works as long as you mirror the data.

Do you mean you back up existing data to a separate RAID'd NAS, or that you don't need a separate backup because you're using RAID? Hope you mean the former!

The "working" copy of my data is stored on a NAS (with RAID) plus I have two sets of backup disks, one stored offsite.
