SCUBA Divers on GFY

Since we get to travel the world to many exotic locations, anybody want to hookup and do some diving, some dining and some business?

Looking for dive buddies around the World.:thumbsup

What exactly exotic locations? :)

Redrob 08-13-2010 03:09 AM

Amsterdam - North Sea, Costa Rica, Channel Islands, Monterrey, Key West.....basically anywhere near a webmaster gathering.

Palau was the best liveaboard diving we ever did. Highly recommended!

Sharks, sharks and more sharks!

Planning another trip next season.

Find Max Candy, he loves Scuba.

Last 2 times I went I fucked up my ears big time, so not on my bucket list. :)

Dont drop the soap

May i suggest Palawan, in the Philippines? Rates are cheap, folks are hospitable, and the scenery is to die for.

On the cheeky side, the scuba diving I know is one that my spouse and I engage in our own privacy ;)

im heading to Grand Caymen in 4 weeks for a few days of chasing bubbles

cant wait. need a break

kowalsky 08-13-2010 07:14 AM

I love diving! Philippines and Thailand the best places I have been for diving... I need to get back to water, it´s been almost a year since last time I did it...

Redrob 08-13-2010 07:48 AM

When I told my wife that using Nitrox will let me dive longer and have less time on the surface, she suggested I get a bottle for the bedroom.....:winkwink:

PADI insturctor and Trimix diver here. I am in Cairo at the moment, just came from a liveaboard at the Red Sea 2 days ago. Flying back home tomorrow.

I got PADI'ed up last year, myself. I'll be over for the Amsterdam show but wasn't thinking that would be a place to dive.

I have my PADI for 15 years, but after i got it i never dove in Holland.
You can dive in "De Oosterschelde" in Zeeland, but i think it is not interesting if you are not a hardcore scuba diver.

Best dive a made was at the Gili Islands near Bali and Bali itself.
There you can see a lot of those big turtles as above and sharks.

leedsfan 08-13-2010 09:37 PM

im always up for a dive anywhere. Especially when it involves blonds or brunettes....or redheads...

waltercooper 08-14-2010 12:05 AM

You are in the US? Go to 'bonaire'. More impressive than Southeast Asia, and in it?s the Caribbean.

Far-L 08-14-2010 01:11 AM

Advanced open water padi certified. Diving here in Seattle area is great for how many spots are so easily accessible. I like the tropical dives but I am not ashamed to admit I love the cold water here too. (of course my dry suit makes that easier to say...)

I am always up for diving and if anyone comes to the Seattle area hit me up and we can get in the water, but of course at shows is a great idea too. We went out in Florida last time we were there and it was decent. Just fun to mix business with pleasure if nothing else.

I hear the Red Sea is amazing. I really want to go dive that sunken palace. Mind blowing stuff. Palau is also on the wish list.

I visited Divers Direct while at AVN/Internext this week. I ended up getting about $200 knocked off a Cobra 2 dive computer, a great deal on an AquaLung BC with the integrated weight system and an Atomic B2 Regulator. Huge selection of merchandise with friendly help. My Internext show was definitely a major score.

Naechy 08-15-2010 02:59 AM

not for me, but i would like to try, why not

Last time I went diving was last February at Sipadan Island, Malaysian Borneo. It was amazingly beautiful, almost like "turtles can you please get out of my way, I want to see that shark there". My fiancé has learned to dive in Vinkeveense plassen here in NL (close to amsterdam), only 2 meters sight and you see close to nothing. Schelde is indeed supposed to be nice but it doesn't attract me... I am a good-weather-diver :)

sperbonzo 08-16-2010 08:13 AM

Vino and I are both Divers. There are plenty of good dives around the Miami, Fort lauderdale, and the upper keys that I can take my boat to with no problem. Hit us up anytime! :)

If you get some hard dates set, post them on here and maybe I'll fly over from Texas.
