Glad to know i'm not alone. If anything this fucked up experience has taught me to drink water regularly throughout the day. I was a human camel before. Maybe 2 glasses of water per day tops.

3 times and im only 31... wanted to kill myself each time.... worst pain ever. Only upside is that doctors know this and will give you any painkiller you want and practically force them down your throat.. still not worth it not even close...

Naechy 08-15-2010 02:25 AM

no, i don`t like to feel this shit

Mutt 08-15-2010 04:23 AM

nope. watched my dad drop to the ground like he'd been shot- thought he had had a heart attack. was kidney stones.

FrozenJag 08-15-2010 04:40 AM

I had a small one once and it hurt bad. All I could do was lay in the bathtub with the hot shower raining down to try and relax.

Luckily I had some pain meds on hand but still that doesnt solve everything. I had never ever had any trouble with them before and a friend later asked me if I had been drinking mtn dew. I was like huh? He said mtn dew has been known to cause them and after thinking for a minute I had drank a ton of it that week. lol

So long story short I havent drank it since and been fine. Could or could not be something to it but I dont risk it after that pain.

charlie g 08-15-2010 06:44 AM

I had one lat year and didnt know what the fuck was happening to me. Absolutely the worst pain I have experienced in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!

justinsain 08-15-2010 07:00 AM

I had them once :Oh crap

Was on my way to work in the early morning and felt a cramp that wouldn't stop so I turned around and went back home. Barely made it in the door before dropping to the floor and doubling up in pain.

My boss came over and gave me a ride to the emergency room and I kneeled on the floor with my head in a chair groaning in pain while I waited my turn.

Doctors did their stuff and determined it was a kidney stone and then gave me some medication. I went from doubled up in pain to a smile in about three minutes :)

Short time later I was out the door with a $3,000 bill with no insurance.

Don't know exactly why I got one but I never properly hydrated while working construction and I had tried getting off pepsi by drinking apple juice which seems to help create stones.

Definitely very intense pain but I once had a toothache that had me rolling on the floor and feeling like my head was going to implode on fire.

Oh yeah...can you say "lithotripsy?" FUN!

I'm on a low-sodium, low-calcium, low-oxalate diet -- err...supposed to be. Luckily my potassium citrate 'script has kept new stones from forming since I started taking it in '07.

femdomdestiny 08-15-2010 07:22 AM

twice

Yep twice, and doctors told that it is probably one of worst type of pains human can experience. First time, I was puking and I thought that it was from mushrooms on pizza but later I've found out it was reaction to pain. Both times lasted several day, it is complete agony, and that someone offered to me to kill me in those moment's I would accept, just to stop feeling that pain. You are completely paralysed from pain and can't think properly.
Doctors told me that on my weight I must drink about 3 liters of water every day and stop drinking Coca Cola.

Anyway, there is no way that you can understand people with those problems in case you don't have one. It sounds stupid and like you are a weak person, but this is great lesson to learn how fragile humans are. Also, if you want to shoot someone and leave it suffer, kidney would be best spot:(

AlCapone 08-15-2010 07:45 AM

If you want pain, try having an exposed nerve in your tooth for 3 weeks.

Just had my lithotripsy done 2 weeks ago, actually went to the Miami show right after wards. Still feeling a little rough, but I have a stent in me as well. Same diet as well. :(

whats oxalate?

Im not sure what caused apparently it can be several things, but i think just not enough water combined with salty food / too much alcohol. Thing is I have changed my lifestyle a little because of this (not enough), but they form so long ago that you know, they are there. I have one still in there and if it moves... hmm lets just say ive got the painkillers on standby but yeah i found they dont even get rid all of the pain and this is oxynorm, crazy strong like morphine.

The hospital want to remove it (healthcare is free here), but that involves a camera and a metal tube up my erm yes. I dont think ill do that...

I dont think anyone who hasnt had them, or experienced childbirth ( apparently childbirth is similar pain levels), could understand. Its totally true if someone said ill kill you i would have said do it.

cosis 08-15-2010 12:35 PM

I've just had gallstones and thats the only time I caved and drove myself to the hospital at 3am. Atleast gallstones come out your ass.

To anyone reading this that is lucky enough not to have had kidney stones--remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. You don't want to experience kidney stone pain. Believe me.

Kidney Stones...
Had a 3 over the years, first time was in the hospital and they were prepping me for surgery, my wife was sitting in a chair near the bed with our then 1.5 year old daughter on her lap. She asked the doctor if I was in a lot of pain as I was doubled up in the bed and he looked at her and said, "He is in more pain than you had having your baby" to that my wife smiled and said, "I had an epidural".

I have had several injuries and surgeries in my life but the intensity of the pain of the kidney stone, no doubt, worst ever, not to mention the rest that goes with it. You can also be puking your guts up while in that pain.

One of my brothers we call the "Kidney Stone King" has passed so many I lost count long ago. He has followed every diet they have put him on and thats been several over the years, he hates the fact I do not follow the diets and have not passed one in years now.

I know a guy that was on the board of an insurance company and he told me about health care maps, they track the occurrence of illnesses in areas of the country. We live in an area that is about 60 miles wide and 120 miles long that has a high kidney stone rate. I sometimes wonder if it is not the fact we have a high mineral content in the water here, but they tell brother drink lots of water in every diet he has been on.

Good Luck and may all your stones pass smoothly.

Oxalate = chocolate and also high calcium plant-based foods Here's a list http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.c...late_foods.htm

I know what you mean re a person someone to kill them to end the pain. When the pain hit me, I just wanted to DIE. It was that bad. Worst pain ever. Jeez.

Now, I try to drink a glass of water after every piss I take.

GeckoDude 08-15-2010 05:45 PM

is this the same stone formed when you are eating salty foods and you're too lazy to get up and piss in the middle of the night?

BFT3K 08-15-2010 06:02 PM

Drink a lot of water, often! Stones can't form if you are always hydrated. The doctor told me to add lemon to the water too, as the citric acid also helps.

I had them once, and it SUCKED! Went to the ER with no insurance. The stones passed while I was there, so all they did was tell me what had just happened.

The cost for this aftermath knowledge.... $5,000!

I was billed $5K because I did not have insurance. For those of you WITH insurance, take notice, as I will NOT be paying this bill EVER, and thanks to the fucked up state of the current US healthcare system - YOU will!

Don't want Obama to help those without insurance? Cool with me - just don't be shocked when your rates start costing you more than your mortgage payments.

True nerve pains are the most painful ones. The pushing of urine on the stone hurts like a mother it seems. Fortunately I havent experienced one yet.
