Cops HATE me, and I HATE them more!
 

I have 2 bald tires and my brake pads are shot, so I got my new tires put on, headed to pick up new pads to install and a sheriff pulls me over for "not stopping at a train crossing". She gives me a warning for the "not stopping", but gives me a $400 for driving with a suspended license. You gotta be shittin' me, my license isnt suspended? Apparently I have to call traffic and figure out why its suspended and why I wasnt notified. They tell me I have 15/12 points on my license and it was suspended for 90 days and is eligible for reinstatement on 9/5 for $150. (All of which this time I can't drive anywhere.) Oh and they mailed the letter saying that I can't drive to the wrong address.

WTF?

You didn't stop on the train crossing because your car doesn't stop? How are you driving with no brakes? The e-brake?
It's not the Law here to stop on the tracks, where do you live?

You had a suspended license and braking issues. Were they really picking on you?

Sorry, but I can't see what the cops did wrong here. If they see a traffic violation they are supposed to pull that car over and write them up. If they run a check on your license and it comes back suspended, they are supposed to take action on that also.


Seems to me that the cop is just doing their job, as determined by your local government. They make the laws, not the cop.

You were pulled over for a number of reasons. When your pulled over, chances are you aren't being pulled over for one offense. In other words, if you being pulled over for speeding on the freeway, you got pulled over because everyone is speeding but you were tailgating, changing lanes too often for no reason, passing on the left, and making unsafe lane changes - STFU, most of us do this and don't even know it.

In other words, you got pulled over because you did something stupid. You were drive too fast or following two closely behind another car, or you dive bombed across three lanes of traffic on the freeway to make your exit - whatever. Then when the cops pull your DL they see it suspended in the system.

Bam.

Stupid people are just that - stupid. If DMV is showing yoru DL as being suspended, your a jackass who at some point in time lost their license.

Thus, your a dumb ass who had his license suspend, failed to file some stupid piece of paperwork, then went out and drove like a jackass. Of course, YOU DID NOTHING WRONG, RIGHT?

I hate cops too, but this time I think they did you a favor by not hauling you to jail.
In Miami if they catch you with faulty breaks and a suspended license, you're definitely getting arrested!

your luckily they didnt take your ass to jail, if you knowingly drive with a suspended license in florida, you are spending a night in jail.

Your license was suspended and you got off with only a ticket??

Down here your car would have been apprehended and you'd go to jail.

Really though, update your address next time, then you'll know when your license gets suspended. How do you expect them to notify you, when you don't tell them where you are?

Not sure why you didn't get the suspended license notice, its usually mailed out along with your Sobv check.

Seems like the cops were just doing their job and you need to re-evaluate your own driving behavior.

Traffic police are OK most the time, they have to deal with the general public
so they are "customer service" oriented.

I got a warning the other night for an illegal U turn at 3am.

Crime detectives are the cunts to look out for. They'll say anything to bring
you in and put you away, once you're behind bars everyone considers you guilty.

If one policeman puts a lie about you in writing they ALL play along.

Many states don't notify you when your license is suspended, only when it is eligible to be reinstated.

On another note, if you are driving on a suspended license then chances are you also have no insurance because most insurance companies will cancel you as soon as you get a suspension.

Ok everyone gets a minor speeding ticket once in a while but how the hell do you get more than 7 - 10 points on your license at a time? I have 0 on mine.
