Isn't it a bit ironic that you have to book the hotel for a webmaster show using a word document and send it unencrypted via email with your credit card information?

Roby 08-17-2010 01:15 PM

looks great !

Yeah i'm still kinda swaying on if i want to go or not. It was a fun show when I went 2 years ago, however I'm worried the turn-out will be poor like I heard the florida show was. Does the hotel have parking?

NETbilling 08-17-2010 11:24 PM

Rub it in Shelly

Mefo 08-18-2010 01:28 AM

Only 1 month to go.... :)

What a great line-up of sponsors!

I look forward to being the "unofficial" bar sponsor. Officially, I'm the sponsor for smoking and drinking outside the front of the hotel. LOL

See you all soon :)

Brad

Konrad,

I for one would love to be able to sit down and talk some shop with you. I am sure there are tons of others who are attending that would love to do the same.

Webmaster Access Events are not produced in the same manner as the FL show. They are meant to be more networking focused and this event is not being pushed to the Novelty or DVD side of the industry, although they are more than welcome to attend.

You say it was not a fun show two years ago when you attended, hit me up and I would love to hear your concerns.

Dr. Wicks 08-18-2010 09:24 AM

I, for one, can state emphatically that CCBill and Cavecreek hosting considers this to be one of the best shows of the year. The reason is that we have the great opportunity to meet many of the EU clients and potential clients that we do not see here in the US. The networking atmosphere allows us to have many meetings where we simply get business done and signed. Along with all of that they offer you a settting in a great city with history and culture (and no I am not referring to the red light district ;-)).

We have constantly come away from the WA shows with signed deals and new contracts. Eric and Shelly know exactly what they are doing and I would highly recommend this show for any person (group) wondering if this is worth the time and $$ spent to attend.

I'm not a flyer...

With the whole polish presidential plane crashing (not that I even liked the guy, he made poland even more of a laughing stock then it already was), I am even more scared then I already was.

Why you ask?

Since I was young, every time I got on a plane I was convinced I was going to die. However, If i were to get on that presidential plane, the thought of me dieing on that wouldn't have even crossed my mind.

I live pretty close to the german and czech borders in the bottom left corner of poland, and I have highway the entire way to the border. It's only maybe a 6-7 hour drive including stops, and if you've ever been to Poland and seen our fabulous roads, you can see how i'd be used to driving that long to get anywhere. Being able to go on the german autobahns is a real treat for us... :1orglaugh Statistically, I'm safer on the plane, but my car is comfortable, diesel, and I like being in control.

i have no problem with flying, usually prefer to drive though. but Amsterdam is quite a haul from Brno and my car takes 13 l/100km Super Plus. :Oh crap

so i just booked a flight from vienna, the show ticket and hotel - i am all set. :)

PS: i drove the highway to Wroclaw from Zgorzelec a couple of years ago and i couldn't stop shaking my head for various reasons - lol

Lol, it's actually ok now. I think its highway the entire way. It's worse when you head towards cottbus. Or should I say, when you come back from there. They made the expressway now, but only in one direction. On the way back it is 70km of holes so bad I thought my car was going to rattle apart.

Yes, never a dull moment in this place :) CZ isn't that great highways either though from what I remember. I was returning from livigno in italy snowboarding, was super tired and made a wrong turn in Vienna somewhere, and somehow ended up in CZ instead of Slovakia. I managed to get about 50km into the country before I even realized when I saw a sign that said 'Brno'. The highway most of the way was just slabs of concrete laying beside each other, spent a good bit of time listening to 'duDUN...duDUN..duDUN...duDUN' under the car :1orglaugh

There was also a ton of army trucks on the highway the entire way, hundreds of them. I was starting to wonder if I should phone the embassy to let them know CZ was invading Poland

Roald 08-18-2010 01:00 PM

K0nr4d, can you bring along some polish programmers for me? PHP/Perl ones please.

Thanks!

Magalie 08-18-2010 01:03 PM

Hi love ! :p tee-hee.
Have fun for me there (but not too much)

Eric, my pleaseure.

I have seen many threads recently regarding shows, attendance, what is being offered and the lack thereof. The simple truth is that there are fewer shows and fewer dollars being spent by sponsors. We simply cannot compare todays shows to that of "back in the day". However, what we can do is look at getting the best return on investment if you do plan on attending any show. The Amsterdam show does just that, plain and simple.

ThumbLord 08-18-2010 05:08 PM

see you all there, would love to meet you Eric as long as the beer is on you.

k0nr4d 08-19-2010 12:15 AM

Phoned the hotel, parking is 45eur/night if anyone else is driving... that parking spot better have a floor made of solid gold...
