The End of Privacy: Entire City to Track People With Public Eye Scanners

Good morning Mr. X welcome to the Beverly Center.. can you imagine walking into a mall or some public place and after an eye scanner sees you, they track and promote things to you not to mention know all about you.. or arrest you if you're wanted !! ?? Imagine that db getting hacked and peoples records being corrupted... this has FAIL all over it.

Imagine a public eye scanner that can identify 50 people per minute, in motion. Now imagine that the government install these scanner systems all across an entire city. Or don't imagine it, because it's already happening, right now.

The City of Leon, Mexico, is doing exactly that, installing real time iris scanners from biometrics R&D firm Global Rainmakers Inc. These scanners don't require people to stop and put their eyes in front of a camera. They work in real time, as people walk, like this:

most people wont try and disguise their eyes with special contacts.. I got laser surgery for 2 reasons..
to see and never to have to wear contacts..
can you imagine 3/4 the population walkin around with sunglasses on all day n night?

who remembers that movie THEY LIVE with Rowdy Roddy Piper? black shades...

Barry-xlovecam 08-18-2010 01:01 PM

Best comment I saw "Millions of dollars defeated by a $3 pair of sunglasses..."

For every measure there is a counter measure.

I guess they could outlaw sunglasses and iris change contact lenses too.

Nothing sinister in it they are just taking care of you.

The way those people are walking in the video it looks like they are still somewhat looking into the device, and walking at a slower than normal pace. Still creepy.

"In the future, whether it's entering your home, opening your car, entering your workspace, getting a pharmacy prescription refilled, or having your medical records pulled up, everything will come off that unique key that is your iris. Every person, place, and thing on this planet will be connected within the next 10 years."

As a marketer, I would be fascinated by that data.

As a human, I am effing appalled.
