Retention, Retention, Retention....that's what I'm talkin' bout.
 

In a time where PPS programs are dropping like flies, conversion rates are getting worse and worse, and the "webmaster affiliates" are fading away to greener pastures, I have a program that retains like a bloated sumo wrestler at an all-you-eat buffet

Naked News has been around for 11 years producing an exclusive show 6 days a week. We have a 3 fulltime writers, a producer, 4 video editors, 3 camera men, and rotating anchors with 8 on staff at anytime. We have two studios in Toronto, is seen on cable tv, satellite tv, PPV in hotels and is licensed to 4 foreign countries.

We started this affiliate program a few months ago and I appreciate all the support and new affiliates we have gotten. We have been working day and night to provide the best tools for webmasters to use and we will continue to expand our marketing.

With such focus on content, we would hope that retention would be high. Breaking into the 'adult' market with an affiliate program was a challenge. Our site is a little bit different and not the normal program you would be promoting.

Here's some examples of our affiliates stats for the past three months:

220 joins 189 rebills 142 actives
155 joins 145 rebills 112 actives
138 joins 89 rebills 77 actives

(some are in 2nd or 3rd billing)

If you are a serious webmaster that is in it for the long haul, you owe it to yourself to think about your current sponsors and evaluate the bottom line. Our current webmasters are making $40+ on a rev share program and this is only our 3rd month.

i just dont understand, do people really pay for that?

i think youd be better off getting advertisers to pay for "commercial" space then getting the consumer to pay.

Maybe I'm just not understanding what you're saying, but according to those stats and the great retention, wouldn't MOST of those be rebilling 5+ times? With retention that good I wouldn't be surprised to see members rebilling 20 times or more.. especially the members that just forget they joined a site and keep paying the bill monthly.

We have only had the affiliate program open 3.5 months. I have non-affiliate stats, but this is the first time we have a mix of traffic. I was a skeptic too when I started building the tours and marketing tools. I was worried that it was a 'one show pony', but after watching the show everyday, I started liking the nuisances, the personalities, and I found myself quoting the news in the office and to my friends. "Hey did you hear......"

There's too much porn out there, and news is saturated also. This site breaks through both places and the people that like it....really like it.

I am 37 now and the Naked News demographic is 40+ guys. So maybe I am turning into my dad. I can attest that this program retains, and that was the goal of the thread.

Like George said, you will see more and more programs switching to revshare. Why not try pushing Naked News Anchors, we are not porn and we are not mainstream. Once you get the customer through the door they do retain very well!!
