I've been trying out the The Bat! Professional Edition as a replacement for Eudora. So far, it's pretty good.

V_RocKs 08-21-2010 01:27 PM

I would use Gmail...

It can pull your mail from all other sources. It can label those and auto-folder them. The spam fighter is the world's best. You can access it from your phone, laptop, cafe computer, work, the list goes on.

Jim_Gunn 08-21-2010 02:42 PM

I used Eudora for about ten years now, and am happy with it, but I am probably switching to Outlook 2010 shortly since I have all my contacts and calendar in Outlook. I also have a couple of gmail accounts that I use for a couple of limited uses with my Android smartphone. But I could never really trust all my business and personal email to exist solely in the cloud. I know they have Google Gears which can download your gmail archive to your local harddrive as well, so that is at least an option to also keep your data on your own hard drives. but still having all that history online is not something I would necessarily want.

u-Bob 08-21-2010 02:52 PM

Thunderbird or the Bat!

Wiredoctor 08-22-2010 07:03 AM

Forget about any program and go with Gmail !

If you want a email client program then use thunderbird !

Altwebdesign 08-23-2010 06:25 AM

im not sure how to fix it, im sure a re-install will do, but I dont have the disk here, i cant recall what the lost .dll was, i didnt write it down and the error warning no longer pops up

Agreed too. But I admit customizing it too much is a pain in the..

I'm considering using Thunderbird + Google Apps + Gmail IMAP.

Google Apps allows also using any email to be handled by Gmail. That means that you get a very good anti spam, which might be worth $45 a year (price of Google Apps).

Klen 08-23-2010 06:51 AM

I currently use essential pim pro, which is not just a mail client it is also pim, notes, and whatever you can imagine, and its mail client is really not good(filtering not working properly,no support for newsgroups,no spam filter)but it have some other unbeatable features-one file only for recording data(make it super easy for backuping, plus it have autobackup),encrypted data(set a password so nobody can read your mail and notes),and program with all it's features uses only 11 mb of memory compare to 111 mb of thunderbird.
