As a veteran traveller of thailand and former resident of Pattaya, Samui, and Phuket I figured I should weigh in here.ha

I absolutely love Pattaya as well as the gorgeous southern islands and yes there are plenty of bar girls in Phuket and Samui but there are WAY better girls in Pattaya, FAR more of them and you can find those rare gems that are very hard to come by in other cities.

By the way I don't pay for sex when Im in Pattaya...I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret that very few people know about. You can meet beautiful, sweet, educated, non-hookers from good families in Pattaya. Every weekend (and even weekdays during certain parts of the year) there are hundreds if not thousands of Thai tourist girls from middle class families that drive to Pattaya from Bangkok to cut loose on holiday. These girls are not whores, they have real jobs or go to school in Bangkok and they party and get wasted with their girlfriends at the nightclubs in Pattaya. Most of these girls have college degrees, speak fluent english, have great style and many even have nice cars. They love to meet western guys, especially Americans, most are incredibly sweet and fun to hang out with and of course they like sex, although sometimes it may take a little time and effort to get them into the sack ( most are looking for relationships, careful not to fall in love )

So how to find these non-pro hotties you ask?hahere's the secret: go to the big dance clubs on the walking street in Pattaya, of course every club is FULL of hookers BUT you must learn to tell the difference between a pro and a Thai tourist girl...here's how; hookers are often by themselves or with other girls that aren't really drinking much, they may have a beer or cocktail but they are nursing it and not really drinking. Often they are standing up by the tables and not dancing much... however the thai tourist girls are down on the dancefloor getting wild, throwing back cocktails like water and they are having a great time with a pack of other hot girls...also they don't make eye contact, that's a dead giveaway- if a girl is looking around at guys and looks you in the eye - chances are she's a pro.ha
You have to dance man, get down there and start dancing with the packs of girls that are having fun and drinking if you want to meet a non-hooker...strike up a conversation on the dance floor and buy the girls drinks..there are LOTS of great non-whores but they are picky too - it helps to have some good looks and style that's for sure (clothes matter) these tips don't apply to fat slobs and older dudes (30's 40's ok if you're a goodlooking dude)

You're deluding yourself. Of course there's always exceptions, but if you meet a girl in a night club in Pattaya, there's a 95% chance she's lieing to you, one way or another. That's why they're at a nightclub in Pattaya.

You have quite a bit to learn about Thai people. Do you really believe some affulent, successful girl is going to hookup with a white guy? Of course not. Imagine them coming to their parent's home with a white guy? What a disgrace that would be! The only Thai people who do that are those who would benefit in social / financial status by having a white guy in their lives. Other than that, they're not going to look at you, let alone have sex with you.

The wealthy and affulent stick with Thais, and don't have anything to do with farangs. Just because they have a decent job doesn't mean shit. A (very) good job means $1000/month, whereas a typical guy in North America makes say $4000/month. That's why they sleep with you.

From what I've heard from a Navy buddy of mine, it's both cheaper and quicker to just pay for a hooker than to find a non-hooker to bang out.

there is truth in what you are saying and in my post I failed to mention that meeting middle or upper class thai girls is NOT easy. These girls are not there looking for a Farang but they are there, LOTS and lots of them...they aren't very receptive when first approached but with a little persistence they do want to talk and hang out. They are very curious about American guys -Good looks, style and charisma is a must..and yes they don't take me home to meet the folks. but deluding myself?? No dude the methodes I've decribed work for me time and time again... I'm heading to Pattaya again next month, join me for a night out and I can prove my point

You guys who live in Thailand full time are obviously more knowlegable than myself about the social structure of that society, but don't kid yourself, middle class girls DO go dancing and drinking in nightclubs regularly, most of them do like western guys once you get through their defenses, and they do fuck (although not always the first night)

Yeah Thai girls do go to clubs, Thai clubs and there are many of them all over Thailand.

I got stuck in Trat when I was trying to hop a ferry to Ko Chang so I hitch hiked from the bus station to a hotel in the city; there was a bar next door so I sat down drinking and the guy tells me it's time to close. I asked him if there was any clubs open around the area and he takes me to some place. Not a white face in sight, just sweaty loud with whiskey. Proper Thai style club. Luckily I was invited by a group to sit down and start drinking. My ex said it was stupid to go into a Thai club alone, but it worked out alright.

That being said...you just will not find middle/upper class Thais in the likes of Lucifer's because they don't want to be looked at like a whore.

I don't see the appeal of middle class/hi-so girls, there will be a lot of pressure on you to get married quickly with a fucking huge dowry. There was for me anyway...

Let me clarify something: I don't think Pattaya is the best place to find middle class girls in nightclubs, Bangkok is better but I don't like living in Bangkok- too smoky and crowded. Pattaya is just the best place I know of that's on the beach.

No, they just tell you it pisses them off. If they don't want people to think of them in that way, they won't goto Pattaya. They know that. They'll goto normal clubs, in normal cities, and not Lucifer in Pattaya.

In Pattaya, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone genuine. And generally, the better English they speak, the less genuine they are, so you better brush up on your Thai. Granted, there are loads of great Thai women out there, but they're VERY few and far between in Pattaya. Trust me, Thais are very deceitful and devious shitheads, and they're fucken good at it too.

Having said that, you can definitely find some amazing people in Thailand, and some good girls too. For example, I'm living in butt-fuck nowhere, but there's a huge bar about a two minute walk from me. Every night has a live band, and usually 200 - 500 people. Myself and a couple friends are the only white people I've ever seen in there, so this is a Thai place. Sure, if you're a good looking & respectable guy, you can easily meet a decent Thai women there. Don't kid yourself though, she's in it for money & stability.

Although I'm a good guy, in my 20s, clean cut, make decent cash, I know he's still in this for a better life.

Legally, no. Realistically, day-to-day life, it's completely fine. Nobody gives a shit due to the culture here. Telling a Thai you're gay is about the same as telling them you're favorite color is blue. It's simply a non-issue.

Lived there for 3 years. The "good" girls go to nightclubs but not to nightclubs catering to farang in Pattaya. They go to the 'hi so' clubs catering to Thais (Thai drinks, Thai snacks, Thai music, other Thais to socialize with, etc.). Thai girls who are with farangs are looked down on by the rest of Thai society because, as someone already posted, they are only with farang if they will gain from it in some way.

Also, you mentioned you don't pay for sex in Pattaya. If your buying drinks for the girls and doing all the shit you have to do to impress a supposed 'good' girl to get her in the sack, then you are paying more for the "free" sex than the guys who are upfront about paying for it.

"Free" sex doesn't exist. You ALWAYS pay for it, you just have to decide what payment method best suits you.
