Too little, too late.

Google missed the boat on this one. Skype owns the googster.

Skype is da bomb. I just wish the call forwarding feature would let you get text messages from Skype forwarded to your Blackberry. As far as I read, you can only forward voice calls through Skype to your cell phone. Is this possible and I missed it in the documentation?

One thing I don't like is, if skype forwards a call to your cell and you reject it, the caller can then leave voicemail on the cell. I would prefer they got rejected back to skype voicemail, but it just don't work that way. So I generally don't forward unless I'm definitely gonna be gone for a good while. (as opposed to just letting everything go to skype voicemail.)

sorry, I realized this in no way addresses your question. :1orglaugh :winkwink:

I use Google Voice.. It's my local phone number and I use it as a text / message service. Then with Google Chat within gmail or the software can both do Video/Voice and Phone calls like Skype does. Just click the person in your address book and call them, you can use the software or your browser. Myself and Tanker have used it before... it works perfectly fine unless you close your browser by mistake.

There is never a dump question.

It's like Skipe, that domain must have been used when they started.

If I'm not mistaken, the name is basically a play on scape but with sky, so it'd just be "skipe".

I have no desire to download and use YET ANOTHER communications program (Skype) but if I can do something new from within gmail, I just might.

I can't be the only one.

Skype is one of those things that falls in the "too good to be true" category. It instantly had me sold for life. And I'm pretty persnicketey about apps, and especially these types of apps. Skype is the real deal all around. ICQ is a dinosaur.
