Tours like this work very well.

Far far far too wide for most surfers. Althought it fits my res perfectly, I have a really large res. And that's a hell of a lot more than 15% more like 50%.

yup both my 17" laptops are 1440 wide and that page is still too wide. I would make it work for 1280 and then maybe it would fit in that 15% you say instead of 40-50%

or, they could be smart and make it a flexible design that fits any resolution and expands to fill up the page for the few people running those high resolutions.

I still have a horizontal scroll bar. Not that big an issue since the content is all visible, but it tells me whoever is coding that page doesn't know what he's doing.
