SEO for Dummies
 

Hey guys,

This is my first thread in GFY! :thumbsup

So anyway, I want to start learning on SEO.. Any ideas where I can start as a beginner?
I wish to hear tips and suggestions as what should I do for a basic SEO. :helpme:helpme

I have a blog site (milf-lbfm.com) and I want to start my SEO on this page and actually see results.

To start you out, you'll want to change your links from http://www.milf-lbfm.com/?p=279 to anything else.

Go to your Wordpress admin, select "Permalinks", and pick something besides "Default"

BTW, the site looks pretty good. I like it.

First get your page fixed then get some links. Will probably cost you $ but you can learn and try it yourself

Well I guess your keyword is going to be MILF.

Find all the MILF phrases you can.

"hot milf"
"blond milf"

and dedicate 1 page to each, using the term dozens of times per page.

Personally, I'd make an offer for www.Hot-Milf.com (see offer page) or something and you'll get the clicks. :winkwink:

I understand learning it by myself.. but just wondering.. what do you mean by "Will probably cost you $"?

I'm not really keen on the "Custom Structure" /%postname%/ format - even though it makes the most sense.

I have a lot of blogs that use the format http://www.sitenamewhatever.com/blog.../14/post-name/ and I have not seen a single /%postname%/ site outrank me for any keywords I target.

The only sites that have stolen my top ranks are tube sites. And that makes me a sad panda.

I think got all my links fixed and changed the "Default" Permalink..

I agree, Backlinks are very important in online marketing.
To be highly effective you need to start with the basics and get many of these quality backlinks as possible.

Sounds like a good idea.. I understand the links with my keywords.. but whats/wheres "the anchor"?

you can learn how to improve your site for SEO and build up your links yourself. All of this would be free. You can of course pay someone for this and get stronger links which would help you rank. If you want to rank #1 for asian cougars then you'll need a lot of work on your site to change that.

It will do you a whole world of good. There are some great Wordpress SEO articles out there there are pure gold.

it must be hard getting into all this now. Anyway, if you haven't got a REALLY good friend to help you out, chances are you're going to have to learn the hard way over a few years time :)
