Arcade Fire's "The Wilderness Downtown" (HTML5 Goodness)
Arcade Fire's "The Wilderness Downtown" is a Chrome "experience," highlighting what modern, HTML5-compatible browsers are capable of rendering.
Multiple windows run and close in coordination with the music, and?easily the neatest part of the demonstration?your browser will incorporate Street View imagery of your childhood home (after you provide the address) Fire up Google Chrome and go here |
Wow, that was awesome.
One of my favorite bands! :) |
You can also use http://earth.google.com/ to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings.
That is one of the most unique things I have ever seen done absolutely fantastic
Something tells me that it was probably pitched to them by Google but whatever it was a great use of their tech.
yeah, very fucking cool.
Now that's thinking outside the box. Fantastic idea.
That's pretty kick ass if you ask me :D
Did everyone else get little windows turning on and off? An extremely annoying experience to have with a browser. I know it's a demo, but if this is what is to come with html5, then it looks like it's time to drop the pc and go fully mobile.
yes... it is amazing...

Did you use Chrome? The "little browsers turning on and off" are the browsers filled with the content of the clip. If you don't have that, it's not working properly for you. |
arcade fire this summer was one of the best shows i have ever seen...amazing live performance, still gives me chills just thinking about it.
I believe that popular music has reach its limit...
