While I don't think there will be an all out civil war, I do think that there will be a coup of sorts and a new dictator will step in and take over. This guy will run the country much like Saddam did. We will probably still have a small number of troops in the country when this happens and we will have to decide if we want to pull those troops out or go back to war with this new leader.

I disagree with us leaving. We are still in Germany, Japan, and Korea. Why leave Iraq? This should be the message - if you piss off the US enough, we will invade you country, remove your government, destroy your way of life, and never ever leave.

With that said... With that said eventually the entire population will discover that violence is not the answer to anything, and that anyone taking part in this violence is nothing more than a criminal. Once enough people get killed by this stupidity, people will say "I've had enough" and will start washing their hands of it. Eventually they will stop looking at each other as "different" and start to figure out they are Iraqis first.

Maybe that's part of the problem. They identify themselves as to what god their worship, and not what country they live in. That's like me saying I'm Irish and not American, although I was born in the US.

That implies they left in the first place.

Charlie Darwin was a smart man.

Look to Iran for clues. Don't think they will partner with it more than other radical Muslims nations. Just think it will end up run by clerics. Without a civil war. If that happens the US jets will help win it for the US friendly side.

I think most people over complicate things. The future of Iraq is simple. People in the Middle East, including Iraq, will continue to fight and kill over religion and power for hundreds and hundreds of years to come. The end.

2 different strands of the same religion will go straight back to killing each other as soon as they are left unattended.
