Free with membership
 

Lets face it, porn sales are dropping due to the free stuff.

But why do sites not reverse this by giving free stuff with membership.

ie

Join and if they stat for more than a month they get a free dvd or sex toy or somthing each month.

Is it now time to provide members with 'real products' with membership?

Or even discounts or free access to other sites.

Lets face it, tube sites are free members sites. But why not offer somthing free sites do not offer?

Do a few sums.

Can you afford to pay the affiliate their share plus the fees plus your costs plus giving away a free toy?

I tried this years ago when I had a paysite. I had a massive collection of DVDs and decided that I would give them away to a member each month, all they had to do was 'enter' into a random drawing. for several months no one enetered for the drawing and then one month one person did... we sent them a few DVDs :)

I think a lot of people do not want to receive porn (even in plain brown wrapping) to appear at their house

in bulk dvd's cost next to nothing to buy.

Agree. Did this back in 1999, gave away tens of thousands of adult cd-roms, turns out they didn't want shit through the mail. Girlfriends, wives, etc.

plus there are certain legal problems too, do not ship to zipcodes, etc...

Because I don't want a massive plastic purple dong arriving on my door step....

and why you want to send them something? just offer them lower membership each month ... starting at 39.99, ending at 4.99 after one year ... loyal members get very cheap memberships and will be even more loyal if they like your site. but not sure how to make it working with billing and affiliates :)

Sounds effective to me... It's not going to get more people to signup, but it may help the ones that do signup, to stay

People use online membership to content so that its underwraps. Some people do not want to enter a shop to buy a dvd or have an item arrive on their doorstep.

Our sales are ok without giving our dvds away. We do already offer dvds in our members area at a members reduced rate than online or high street shop prices where it's sold.

It's the shipping that can get you: no one wants to wait 3 months for surface mailing of a freebie, but if many customers are overseas, you may be paying more for stamps than for the gimmes... and, as mentioned, there are real legal threats.

We've been giving away everything free for our sites for about six months now. They don't pay for anything, it's all just totally free. We're making so much money. . . don't have time to count it all. The more we give away the more money we make! It's crazy!
