wow, a toolbar installed on both browsers, home page changed, default search engine changed, no way to remove from the task bar. wow.

on a positive note, it was well worth the install. :winkwink: :)

Under the prefs link under one of those many tabs it has is a way to turn all that shit off. Outside of that, check out Pidgin. No extra bs but covers all the basic needs, suppots icq, irc, msn, aim, google talk, and others.

Yeah - same here. I had my SysAdmin's up in my office not too long ago after I spent many days messing with the default search engine. No matter how many times I changed it to Google, removed ICQ, it would magically show right back up.

I'm mainly on my Mac, so I use Adium. I only installed ICQ on my PC to hit up one of my reps at the time and "quiz" them. :)

Programs and Features -> ICQ Toolbar -> uninstall :)

Disabling it in the ICQ options doesn't work 100% as its still there lurking in the dark corners of the browsers.
