cable company
I had the triple play $99/month thing which they actually do with a $40/month credit on your bill. It just expired so I called the cable company saying I would go to fios if they don't lower the price back.
So the guy said he would do it, but he could offer me this better deal. Instead of a $40 discount/month for 12 months I could have a $20 discount/month for 24 months. I said I'll take the $40/12. He then said, but you'll be out of the discount period in 1 year, but with the other deal I can have a discount for 2 years. Do people actually fall for this stuff? |
don't blame them for trying, I'm sure some will fall for it

I suppose some people do not think they can ask for the discount again in 12 months so they feel they could benefit more from the 20 off for longer than the 40 for 12.... Stupid I suppose.

Go with FiOS anyway. I switched from Comcast to FiOS a couple of years ago and will never go back. Better picture quality, faster internet. I have their triple bundle and pay $114/month, with every fucking premium channel (minus Playboy TV). At Comcast that shit cost me about $200/month.
