Why the Ipod and other 'pod' devices will be huge

Do not think of such as the Ipod as a replacement for the PC or indeed your laptop, simply as it will not be.

The Ipod machines fill a gap that has not been filled before very well.

You see the Ipod machines are basically a portable touch screen that runs soft wear. This has been up till now a problem with portable devises in that they needed a keyboard.

This makes them very handy as a devise for anyone who works in a portable way. If you have ever tried to use a laptop on the move you know what a pain it is.

Think of a student why can put one on his desk and scribble notes onto it. It takes up no room, you do not disturb others by typing, its not making a hard drive noise.

Think of any person who works in a van or car for instance. He/she can simply have it on his seat next to him, easy to pick up and write on (think if it was a laptop, what a pain it would be to pick up, turn on, mess about typing in). Just think if he delivers goods he can just get the customer to sign directly onto the machine, no need to carry lots of paperwork. And its instantly emailed back to his office.

Think of the hospitals where doctors and nurses can walk around a ward, writing up there notes and instantly seeing a patients x-rays or other info they need.

Think of the office worker. No need to carry that bulky laptop all over. Just think how easy it will be to do presentations and business meetings with one. No more being embarrassed because your laptop will not start up.

Think of the police who can write there reports at the time or at least make notes and at the same time use the machines to take pics, vid clips and even use them to record peoples statements.

Think of the designer who can draw directly (and naturally) onto the machine. No more trying to draw using a mouse or pad and pen.

This will be the main reason these will become popular.

In the past PDA's suffered due to small keyboards. Unless you had small fingers like me, then these machines were not easy to use.

As for home use, chances are your dvd player will be become wifi so you can watch films on such devises anywhere in your house.

"Will" be big? I believe there have been 125 million sold to date. Add to that about 50 million iPhones. What are you talking about man?

I had to look to make sure this was not a Fatfoo post. I kinda think the Ipod passed the popular point some time back.

I mean ipad.

The iPad is fantastic. I've managed to replace my notebook completely with my iPad...I use it for work and travel ALL THE TIME.
