I think Choker's banner is a perfect example of "ugly pretty".

The design is basic but it's so basic it's perfect. It does exactly what it's designed to do, it stands apart from all the other design on the page, catching you off guard and grabing your attention.

Even if you didn't click it, you noticed Choker's ugly banner, making it a solid excercise in branding if nothing else. :2 cents: :thumbsup

And i guess the spelling mistake maked it more believable too.

Yeah, right.,

the fact it was online for some time and nobody noticed it before makes me really believe 1000s have been clicking it.

Thanks to everyone that messaged me letting me know about this, it seems Eric is on a three day weekend but I'm sure he will make it up to me.
