RAR stands for Roshal ARchive. It is a non-documented archive file format that supports data compression, error recovery, and file spanning.[2] It was developed by a Russian software engineer, Eugene Roshal (the first letter of his surname contributing to the name of the archive format), and is currently licensed by win.rar GmbH.[3]

The filename extension used by RAR is .rar for the data volume set and .rev for the recovery volume set. In previous versions, if a RAR-archive was broken into many smaller files (a "multi-volume archive"), then the smaller files used the extensions .rar, .r00, .r01, .r02 etc.

Opening files is a lot like opening doors.

I went through a door before and it was brown.

Brown is a color. Everything has a color.

Good luck!!

The current developer of WinRar is Eugene Roshal, while his brother Alexander Roshal is engaged in running the business behind the software.

7 zip is great, has all the functions like winrar, winzip and it's free! Plus it has it's own compression .7z that has better ratios than rar!

tiger 09-04-2010 03:46 PM

Winrar is the best.

Did you get your screen name from the Foo Bird of Mungo Valley? Those birds will crap on you but if you scrap it off, you immediately drop dead. They have a saying in Mungo Valley: "If the Foo Shits, Wear It".

Some people have brothers while others have sisters.

My sisters name is Mary. My friend has a cat named Mary.

I fucked a cat once.
