Am I the only Company that never used...

ePassporte?

We've been paying by check and wires since 1995, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I like Chris and the gang, but it's good to say. We are in the Safe Zone.

Sorry for all of you holding off to see what happens. I'm sure they will fix it and you will all get paid. If not, I can imagine the Lawsuit they will file against Visa or the Bank.

AdPatron 09-04-2010 01:52 PM

I've only used it to receive.

LongBG 09-04-2010 01:52 PM

You post / thread does absolutely nothing for anyone.

Whether you're pitching or catching, still playing ball.

Your sexual preference is not being questioned here dude, but whatever floats your boat..

Hahaha, sorry I just had to say it. If not me, someone else would have.

XPays 09-04-2010 01:57 PM

we only used it when it was forced upon us by paycom back in the day as a payment option for customers. never for webmaster payouts despite probably over 1000 requests. the question is did the long time use result in more biz for those programs that did add them? tough math there. we are not happy about this stuff and wish our peers a speedy recovery.

My point is positive things happen to positive thinkers. "Stay Positive"

james_clickmemedia 09-04-2010 02:04 PM

We only use it to pay our affiliates that request it. I understand why foreign affiliates want to use the service. We still choose check, ACH or wire as our payment option when dealing with other companies.

You just beat everyone to it. :1orglaugh

PenisFace 09-04-2010 02:08 PM

I don't like epass at all. I don't like the way it's setup or the way you have to do stuff. I dunno, I can't really say much more than that.

fuzebox 09-04-2010 02:23 PM

Checks are so archaic. I can see how if you are like a normal dude living in the USA with your normal bank account and getting mail delivered to your house you like em, but if you have any kind of alternative arrangements checks are a huge pain in the ass :1orglaugh

Checks and fax machines. :1orglaugh

MaDalton 09-04-2010 02:25 PM

people wanted to pay that way - so i accepted it. but i always withdrew right away. so my loss is $12 now

NaughtyRob 09-04-2010 02:54 PM

Same here, my loss is a whopping $14.

bizarrejan 09-04-2010 03:01 PM

never used epass to pay affiliates, but its everyones personal choice if they wanted to use epass I hope that things get resolved favourabley especially for people who have money in epass, whether it be $1 or $millions

signupdamnit 09-04-2010 03:01 PM

I've always been annoyed at the few sponsors who did not offer check payments. Hopefully we'll see less of that from now on.

Kelli58 09-04-2010 03:21 PM

I agree and I don't like wire transfers either. To much money!!

I'm not going to pay $25 or even $35 or $40 for you to wire me my money and then the bank who charges me another $10 for incoming wire fees.

I say give me a good old fashion check any day. It's free and although it may take a day or two longer to get my money .... but in the end, I have my money for sure and well, it didn't cost me anything to get it.

Pipecrew 09-04-2010 03:28 PM

now think about all the webmasters that prefer that payment method, and then all the big webmasters that will only use it. It definitely isnt 1996 anymore.

Now take a deep breath and realize how many millions you left on the table.

i win!

:upsidedow

Vick! 09-04-2010 03:46 PM

you sure you are not losing webmasters because you dont offer epass as payment method?

IllTestYourGirls 09-04-2010 03:51 PM

Lots of people assuming the money in Epass is totally lost. If you have change in your wallet and just want to give it away Ill take it ;)

nickutis 09-04-2010 04:07 PM

well I see this as disadvantage for your company

Your competitors are able to pay me via epassporte and that's one of reasons why I'm with them, and not you

:1orglaugh :winkwink:

when your money is on the roulette table, and the dealer just waved the hand, but the ball is still bouncing around the wheel....is it lost? or not? or....? thats where we're all at right now.

some just have higher stakes :disgust

There was a 2 year period where I living solely off epassporte and unable to promote anyone who didn't pay out via it.

Being a webmaster gives me the flexibility to travel a lot and live in other countries, which makes a physical check being mailed to a physical address inconvenient to deal with if not impossible.

MobiusMike 09-04-2010 04:19 PM

I think you've got to be ready to wait a long time to get whatever they owe you out.

If you understand that VISA just doesn't shut down programs without advanced warning for no reason one of the following seems likely to have happened:

- St. Kitts got notified by VISA of an impending closure for some term violation or at the behest of the FTC or another regulatory agency and didn't tell e-Passporte it was coming

- St. Kitts told e-Passporte and they've been running around behind the scenes trying to fix it without telling anyone and couldn't get it done

- VISA looked at the program and decided something so bad was going on that they had to close it down immediately to avoid a larger problem

I have a hard time believing that funds will be released if there's an investigation ongoing or if there's a huge problem with the program. It may take weeks or months to un-wind all of it.

Not really comparable. Wires require a high minimum and also a high fee. Whereas epass typically require a low or moderate minimum and very low fees, which several sponsors will cover for you.

Let's say you are promoting 10 different sponsors and make $200 a month with each. Using epass you'll get your full $2000. Using wires you probably won't get anything.

HomerSimpson 09-04-2010 04:41 PM

Dave your post sounds like who needs electricity, I'm fine with washing my clothes in river and cooking on open fire...

Checks are so 20 century, wires are expensive. Epass was/is really good solution and I hope it will be fixed soon!

right - didnt think of that.

Chosen 09-04-2010 06:17 PM

You're not the only company that never used ePass, but it's not a something to be proud of.

Grapesoda 09-04-2010 06:26 PM

don't have an account and never have used epass. hopefully they will get everything back on track soon and get the money pipe flowing again

messiah1 09-04-2010 06:28 PM

Checks = snail mail but it's better than nothing.

+1, you probably lost alot more in a long run by not offering epass, so that's basically tells me your company doesn't care about what your webmasters want... it shows that companies who started offering epass do listen to their webmasters

We pay by wire, ACH and Check, haven't had a problem with that payment method for over a decade.
If someone requested it, I would make it happen, if they need me to drop of the check to their house, I would.

I'm a lot more successful pushing traffic to 50-60 sponsors at a time, which results in a lot of $1-200 payouts...

Also accessing the home bank account from other countries is possible, but for a long term solution the fees eat you alive. My story is a pretty unique one, but in an industry like this you're going to meet a lot of people who live outside the norm. :2 cents:
