How does file sharing sites and torrents get better SEO placement than the site they steal from?

Can someone please explain that to me?

If I have www.XXXvideos.com and every file sharing and torrent site gets better placement for the search term "XXX videos" and "XXXvideos.com" how is that possible? I understand Google themselves are thieves but any idea as to why would allow this? It doesn't make sense.

traffic? :)

Google wants you to fail so they can take over the net?

gooddomains 09-05-2010 05:05 AM

they might be smarter

SEO is all about links, they get placement because people like them and link to them.

Yeah, you can say people are thieves that's why they link to thieves.

PS. And they have content (regardless of legality), whereas our sites have content protected in members area.

Because they are better at SEO than you?

Agent 488 09-05-2010 07:52 AM

people link to it more? not rocket science.

No way! You mean that google's algo actually lists relevant sites higher! I thought you just had to set up a blog, write 10 posts and then use the old for new WP plug in and you made BANK!!!!!!!!!111oneoneoneone

cybermike 09-05-2010 10:57 AM

Yeah because all these fake torrent sites that show up for sologirl models sure are more relevant

google is a bot, not a person.

File sharing sites have a big promotional network.

Topics are descriptive and regularly added to.

Google doesn't know who actually owns content so won't (and has no reason to) penalise a thief.

It wasn't a comeback, it was telling you to shut the fuck up for stating something that is painfully obvious but in a manner like you're being sarcastic because only you know it. :uhoh

Now shut up.

icymelon 09-05-2010 07:35 PM

more traffic and more inbound links

Hentaikid 09-06-2010 04:52 AM

Add to all that, bounce, people search a model name, find the site, discover it's a paysite and go searching for a rip, so as far as google is concerned that was not what they were looking for

seeandsee 09-06-2010 05:34 AM

google supports theft?
