Health Officials Intend to Regulate Popular Nicotine Delivery Devices as Drug Products:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday sent warning letters to five manufacturers of electronic cigarettes, noting that from now on the popular nicotine-packed devices will be subject to regulation as drugs.

Was bound to happen, the US was one of the only markets left where they were unregulated, or even legal.

Regulation doesn't seem like such a big problem. I was afraid they would try to ban them outright which would be a complete cig-industry dick sucking move on the FDA's part.

I know a couple of people who use them and sadly, if E-Cig's are banned, it'll be back to the real cancer sticks for them and plenty of others.

You can thank the tobacco lobby for this one. The big tobacco companies realized ecigs are a threat to their bottom line and sent their lobbyists in to make sure their business model doesn't vaporize (pun intended) overnight.

I do hope they don't regulate the RealTouch next.

Last month I stocked up and have over 4,500 ml of 36mg liquid i can cut in half with pg, giving me like 9k ml.. lol.. it will expire before i ever go through that, but i was paranoid.

I also have enough batteries to power a small village.. (plus two 1 gallon bags of PCC's, atomizers, cartomizers, cartridges, and pass-throughs)...

I think I might have went overboard.. lol but with all of the money I saved from not smoking cigarettes, I went crazy making sure if there was a ban that I would be good for awhile.

that and all of those failed products like patches and gum losing money, I am sure pharmaceutical companies had their hand in this too..

Yeah, it's the Totally Wicked Titan 510, same thing as the Joye 510. The Tornado looks like the same thing as the eGo.

I'm on my first 510 kit, my first atomizer just went out so I'm on the 2nd and I think the batteries are starting to lose some power. I found a place to order a 510 kit for 35 bucks, was going to do that but if the eGo is really that much better I'll try it.

The 510's batteries tend to lose power over a few months (faster than most other models)... although prior to the eGo it was one of my favorites next to the DSE901.

The Ego's battery is about the same length, just a little fatter, then there is the eGo Mega battery which is slightly longer.. Plus it is compatible with the 510 atty's so those won't go to waste and you won't have to buy an adapter to use them (same goes for the cartridges and cartomizers). Also, if you have a pass-through for the 510, it will work on the eGo.

I was a 2 pack a day smoker and with the regular 510 I was going through like 7+ batteries a day.. With the eGo, 2 regular batteries get me through the day, and the Mega battery will get me through a day all by itself.

I own about 5 different models, have all of the accessories for each including pcc's etc.. and I have to say if you do not care that it does not look like a cigarette, the eGo is the best out there..

There are similar mods but that one appears to be the most reliable, and a kit can be picked up for like $45 or so. I think totally wicked is more expensive, but you do get their name stamped on it lol..

Plus if you use the cartomizers, it not only makes the e-cig shorter but also those equal like 5 regular cartridges in my opinion, so refilling is far less.. and on a drinking night, the mega atomizers totally rock (made my wife choke due to the amount of vapor lol.. but they hold like almost 3ml of liquid.. the one I am speaking of is the fat atomizer, not the longer 510 one.).

And only the button on the eGo lights up, which makes it more hidden.. so if you use it with a cartomizer, it will mostly fit in the palm of your hand.

I did order from totally wicked today, they are the only ones i have seen with a good PCC for the eGo so I picked up 2 of them.. (for long trips and shit)... I've ordered their flavoring to mix my own unflavored liquid I have stocked up on and other accy's before too (cartomizers, cartridges, etc), but for the most part their kits are over priced even with a coupon code.

I was going to go in on selling e-cigs with a partner, but we decided last month it might be better to wait and see what the FDA does.. I did not want to invest a good 10k between the 2 of us just to get started and then be stuck with the inventory (or worse yet have it seized like they did earlier this year)..

The FDA are just a bunch of assholes pretending to be worried about us and telling us to go back to smoking cigarettes until they decide if e-cigs are safe.. lmfao.. it sounds even more stupid every time i say that lol.. They could at least be honest and say we need tax dollars, and big tobacco and pharmaceutical companies are paying for our vacations, so if you all die, we are sorry. The lil fuckers should probably be focusing on eggs and shit...

I would not push any of the ones I've seen with affiliate programs.. most notably "blu".. they just aren't very good ...

Digitalciggz.com is out of them ... I got a REAL Joye 510 atomizer, the H16 battery and the charger all for $35 (Don't buy a Hello kit with the proprietary cone atomizers - they SUCK)

Some people swear by the Ego or Riva and variants because of the cone and something about airflow. I vape on my Hell016 battery ALL DAY without charging. It's great. Even got a little adapter for $2 that lets me vape Kr808 threaded cartos when I want to.

I recommend the 510 Atomizer (with drip tip) OR the 510 E2 Cartomizers.
The 510 E2 Cartomizers really can't be beat. There's NO FILLER, just a liquid tank with wicks in it .... I have heard of newer ones with just a tank and they don't even need a wick, sound real good but haven't tried 'em

The Hello batteries can be found for under $20 and they're 1300mah
Maybe $2 more than the 650mah ego ... I think the Riva is 750mah and they have an Ego Mega that is 900mah

I don't use the cones on mine.. to me I don't see a real big difference other than cosmetic and it just gets in the way when changing things out..

That's what is nice about these Hello016 batteries. If I forget to swap batteries when I wake up, and remember when I'm out somewhere... I can still make it through a SECOND day if I go easy on it.

From what I've been told, no one can make a long life battery for what we're asking of them. Atomizers pretty much present a dead ass short to the battery. We're lucky they're lasting months at a time. For me, I figure on buying one new Hello016 per month (I'll need FAR FAR less than that) and treat them as being disposable. Like atomizers, I figure on needing one a week .. eight bucks .. and this one has lasted a month.

The trick to 510s is getting REAL JOYE atomizers. My father got a "510" locally and it looked exactly like mine but produced ZERO vapor.

I think if the government manages to fuck us out of them, it'll be like prohibition on steroids. The American public is just in NO MOOD for their shit, especially right now... What can they really do, make nicotine a schedule drug? HA... then they can't sell their cigarettes ... oops .. and if you look at the studies, they found slight trace amounts of what is it DEG in one of nineteen e-cigs they tested?

And cigarettes have many times that amount anyway? Then they try to scare us away from PG which is used in smoke machines and has been used in theaters and hospitals to keep the air free of germs? Oh but that is what is in anti-freeze..... Yeah, they put it in there to make the NON TOXIC drinkable anti-freeze. ... also used in snow cones ..

As an aside ... you've got to try making your own e-juice ... I can make anywhere from 5mg to 75mg .. 36 is the max you want to go. You buy the base nicotine juice in 50 or 100mg strength and cut it down however you want

Example, right now I'm vaping maybe 20 drops 100mg nic juice, 30 drops vg and 30 drops of flavoring. It's knocking me on my ass without overdosing me on the nicotine.... Got to try making your own man

I got a really nice deal on my Titan 510 at a local tobacco shop. I was buying liquid from them too but it was almost unlabeled and I didn't really know where it was coming from. I order my liquids from Totally Wicked now, I like their Patriot line but I haven't tried the others. I read really nice reviews about their liquids.

I was going to order this Joye 510 kit because it's cheaper than getting the parts separately. Looking at the eGo kit on there and the Tornado kit at Totally Wicked they appear to be the same price, where are you buying your kits from?

I'm using the 510 instead of smoking cigarettes, I was trying to quit but this works out pretty well instead. I'm on my first 30ml bottle and it's lasted about a month so far, should last another week or so at this rate. 2 batteries used to last me for a day but now that they're losing power I'm on 3 or 4 a day.

I don't have any accessories other than what came in my starter kit, so I'm definitely willing to try another kit. Sounds like the eGo would last me a whole day without having to swap batteries or bring batteries with me.

How are the cartomizers? Are those refillable?

What's the deal with the cartomizers? Are they refillable? My carts have a cotton type material in them, I've read on forums that you can get material for cheap to replace it when they get old and clogged. But it's kind of a pain in the ass, and I'd prefer to have a different style without it.

What do you guys do with the dead batteries? Does walmart still do that battery recycling box in the electronics section?

And what do you guys use for liquid? I just tried my first Patriot from Totally Wicked, pretty happy with it. I might try their red label next, they seem to have more flavors.

Cartomizers are atomizer/cartridges all combined in one unit. Kind of a disposable atomizer. Some have filler, the E2s have a tank with wicks.. All Kr808 cartomizers have filler.. Cartomizers ARE refillable but don't always last as long as an atomizer (especially the ones with filler) but some people get them to last a LONG time. But at >$10 for a 5 pack, cartomizers are inexpensive anyway. You can buy blanks or prefilled.

Also, like atomizers, some cartomizers are "low resistance" and some aren't.

The kit is not a bad deal, though, because it comes with the charger and TWO real Joye 510 atomizers... and a box of 5 cartridges..

In that kit your two real 510s are worth $8x2= $16 ... Batteries are worth what $15 apiece so x2= $30 ..... So you're at a $46 value without the charger which is worth another $10+-. Not bad at all.

I still recommend getting a Hello 016 battery since they're 1300mah and last all day on a charge. Or even the Ego is 650mah and just a hair slimmer.

I do make my own.. I have over 4500ml of 36mg unflavored stocked up, I cut it down to 18mg (I still do 36mg on drinking nights, 18-24 on average days, but my wife does like 8-12mg.. so I figure I have of 9000ml lmao.. more than I will use before it expires.. I posted that earlier in this thread).

I opted to just get the 36mg in bulk instead of the 100mg because 36mg was like $49 for 500ml and 100mg in 500ml was like $125 and after cutting it the price was not really that drastic with the end product. That and I also did not want to worry about rubber gloves and shit.. lmao (plus exposing it to air will make it go bad sooner, so i figured better to have a bunch of 36mg 500ml bottles than a few 100mg 500ml bottles)

I keep mine in the fridge, but I know a shitload will probably expire in 2-3 years before i even get through it...

Well .. I know for sure that you can't charge a regular small battery in a Hello or Ego charger .. But you can probably charge a Hello or Ego in a regular charger (Edit.. I tried to put my hello016 on a regular 510 charger and it wouldn't fit in far enough)

I think they told me the more powerful Ego/Hello charger will explode the small batteries

But yeah all of those numbers they spit out are just thread types and I think the atomizers differ too. But if you have a 510 battery any 510 atomizer will work on it. If you have a KR808 battery you can use any KR808 cartos or a 901 atomizer
You can also get adapters between them for $3

Don't let all of the numbers and names confuse you. It's overwhelming. Make sure you get try Joye atomizers or another well known one.... I think SLB is another maker for example (unless those are Joye as well)

The first atomizer out of my kit lasted about 2 months. I just started using the spare the other day and it's finally vaping right, wasn't putting out a lot of vapor at first.

What are you using for fluid? I'm doing the Totally Wicked Patriot line, going to do the 30ml bottles for a while so I can try out some different flavors. I don't know if I'm really up for mixing my own liquids and shit quite yet.

as far as i know ecigs, or the import of ecigs, in canada has been a no-go since back in 2009. this might not go for zero-nicotine liquids, but there has been research that has detected levels of nicotine even in the supposed nic-free varieties.

i don't see any reason why there should be a complete ban on ecigs. however, i don't see any reason why they shouldn't be regulated by the same rules as plain old cigarettes either...

Yeah, I fucked with it a little bit, tried both batteries on it and did a dry burn, tried blowing it out, nothing worked.

The xtremevaping link you posted has some really cheap prices. I think I paid 25 or 30 bucks for 30ml of flavored liquid. Looks like you just buy the PG/nicotine liquid and add flavoring to it? 12 bucks for 60ml and 10 bucks for flavors? Or am I missing something?

It all depends on what base you buy the nic juice in.
I buy the nicotine juice in a PG base, my flavors are in a PG base and I mix it all with VG I buy at walmart. Huge bottle of VG is $4 at wall store. .

I am told that if you want to cut the VG based nic juice (or any juice) you can use water or vodka. But use distilled water. Tap water can contain chlorine (BAD for the lungs)

My batteries last me several months.. the eGo Mega batteries I got were between $15 to $17 depending on which site (and the coupon codes lol..). I have not killed an eGo battery yet.. I have a few old 510's that last for shit now (an hour at best), and one 4082 that is dead..

The Ego can be charged in a 510 charger but the 510 cannot be charged with an ego charger. But odds are your 510 charger is the wall type, which you would need to buy an extender for a few bucks to make it work (not worth it), but if it is a usb charger then your ego will work with it.

Alot of people think their atomizers are dead.. but usually they are just clogged or dirty..
blowing on the battery end to get excess liquid out is the first thing to do (usually caused by excessive dripping)

If that does not work, then there are a number of ways people clean them:

from simply boiling them, to soaking them in soapy water with vinegar and then rinsing, then drying with some alcohol and letting them air dry.. etc (blowing shit out in between, washing, rinsing and drying and so on.. there are all kinds of techniques)

Even cartomizers can last you months.. some people throw them out lol..

the most important thing is to never let your atomizer or cartomizer get dry, always drip a few drops of liquid on a brand new (or freshly cleaned) atomizer.
