Blaze engulfs homes in California neighborhood
Firefighters were battling a gas line or gas-fueled blaze Thursday evening that engulfed dozens of homes and sent bright flames and huge plumes of smoke shooting hundreds of feet into the air in a neighborhood in San Bruno, California, California Emergency Management said.
"The flames are being fueled by something. There was a loud explosion being reported by witness and just dozens of homes on fire," said Kelly Huston of California Emergency Management. He said there were some injured and walking wounded. Breaking story here... http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/09/09/cal...ex.html?hpt=T2 |

Unfortunately one of our coworkers lives in this neighborhood. She was evacuated with her family, I know that much. Its almost 11 and no one has heard from her...
I hope all is well. I was driving home at the time of the explosion on the 101. I could see the fire ball from the freeway.... |
this wasn't some wildfire out in no-man's land... it was a violent gas line explosion in the middle of San Bruno near the SFO airport.... dozens of homes were destroyed... many peeps are in the burn unit at the hospital.... shit was on the news here live all night. 4 people are dead so far.

They say 4 people, but I'm almost positive its going to wind up being more. I hope not, but there were reports last night of people who were seen trapped in their homes.
One eye witness reported grabbing his family and driving off as fast as he could. It was so hot, his rear bumper burned off. |
