What would YOU do if this happened...

A program I have promoted for years recently switched from a third party system to MPA3.

From January 1 to June 30, my third party ratio with this little proggy is:

I've deleted the sales and traffic numbers from that gif. I didn't make huge sales, but it was worth $100-$200 a week.

Since changing to MPA3 - (yet using the same thrid party biller for processing) - my ratio is thus:

As one of over two hundred sites I run, this BS is not worth my time. I think I'll just blindly redirect their links somewhere else.

Just curious. If you run a program and its working fine, why do you force affiliates to change their links? Only one reason I can think of.

I usually stop all promotion. If it really pisses me off I will immediately pull all links. Otherwise I drop links over time. If it never rebounds I make a note to avoid that sponsor and all of their future programs.

I don't know why sponsors do many things. I consider that often it's just stupidity and looking for some quick short term $$$. Consider that if someone is playing with the numbers in the end they are only screwing themselves. Any experienced webmaster knows most of the games and knows what their traffic is worth. We won't promote you if you don't meet expectations and if it's bad enough we may never touch you again. Then if that webmaster often speaks of their experiences consider the bad press you'll get. We are free to post our ratios even on GFY. :upsidedow If they stay in business for years think of all the revenue they lost from your traffic by ruining a good thing. Idiocy.

Unfortunately I notice a correlation between the "affiliates aren't important anymore" talk and the bullshit like this. Hearing a lot of sponsors talk lately suggests this stuff will be on the rise. It's good to find honest sponsors who both respect affiliates and their customers. You'll come out ahead in the long run. :2 cents:

Good answer. I run their links through a redirect script, so I'm just going to change them to point elsewhere.

I really liked this site, but I can longer justify wasting any time on it.

When I get a DMCA for redirecting their galleries and content, I'll send out a DCYL(A) (don't change your links, asshole).
