They gave away a pretty pimp Harley at the Internext convention. Too bad I didn't win it. Oh well, I did manage to get a whole new T-shirt wardrobe! :thumbsup

I have an idea, want to race from Los Angeles to Daytona Beach?

You would not stand a chance, even my kids laugh at the idea. Besides, you will have to go a lot faster than 90 MPH if you want to pass my H-D, I drive at that speed all day long.

How many miles have you ever ridden your bike in 1 day? Think you can make it 700+ a day? in the rain? Thought not

sextoyking 01-09-2003 05:48 PM

I have partied at Buffalo Chip since 1986, however, I prefer to stay at the KOA campground in Spearfish. No worries about getting some asshole all coked up talking all night over the PA system :1orglaugh

spoken like someone that does not know shit about motorcycles or ever spent any time on the road . . . so, tell me son, what is the furthest you have ever ridden in one day? a week? a month? your entire life?

I was doing wheelies while you were still in diapers, nuff said.

Dang you harley boys are sensitive !...Seriously though, my friends ride harleys, a few of them, I like the really custom ones to look at but for me they are just to loud and not fun. Anyone on two wheels is a friend of mine though, riding is riding...and only people on a bike get it. The friends I ride with are into the street bike thing. And yes I have spent time on the road...passing you ! Late :thumbsup

I'm young and ride about 1000 miles per week during the summer, and I like riding more than one bike :-)

For long trips, I will use my harley...

currently working on this one I bought from a guy who went in prison for a couple of years, he couldnt finish it:

http://www.fffrogz.com/customh.jpg

You can't beat the feeling of a real low seat custom bike that can pass away most of the sport bikes on the road easily. Stock bikes are sloooow as hell, except the harley Vrod, if you can call that a harley.

Harley Davidson is not american anymore... a japanese company bought them 2-3 years ago if I remember well.

man you are too funny. First off, that picture you provided, would you mind pointing out what exactly is H-D there, because I sure can't see it.

And no, H-D was bought by AMF in 1970, and bought back by the grandsons of the original founders in 1984, it is now an American owned, and publicly traded traded company.

That bike you showed a picture of might be pretty to look at to some, but I doubt that it will ever show up on the streets of Sturgis or Daytona Beach unless it gets there in the back of a trailer. :1orglaugh

I said I have more than one motorcycle. These two pictures are CUSTOM bikes. The guy paid 47k so far on the last one, and had to sell it so I bought it cheap at 28k. I need to put another 10k on it and ~5k on the paint job and it will looks like a show bike and will be way funnier to run than any stock harley.

HD is a constructor. The only good thing they were able to create in the last few years is the V-Rod. There's no reason to buy a softail if you can get a honda for 5-6k cheaper with better performances.

Look at the numbers, Harley Davidson produces the slowest motorcycles on the market, except the V-Rod. The Sportster 1200 2003 has 69 HP and everything else is around 55-60 HP.

Bottom line is that a fat custom bike will give you a better ride, a better look, about 150 HP performance, better sound from bigger engines (130CI)... and YES you can build it for long trips if you want. (but in that case you're better off a sport-tour bike) It's your baby, and it's why the goold old harley rebels are now building their own bike if they have 40k+ to spend.

But if you are 40 years old, I perfectly understand. You're not a harley rebel anymore and need a slow stock bike :1orglaugh

I have a sporster 1200 and had a FXR 2 years ago...

http://www.fffrogz.com/harley.jpg

changed the pipes for samson slasher straight pipes. Need to boost it @ 90 HP at least now.

michel 01-10-2003 04:42 AM

That Dodge motorbike rules!
It has the Viper's V8 (500 hp) and could reach a max. speed of 315 mph.
:thumbsup

let me know when you are ready to race from Los Angeles to Daytona Beach, then we will talk, and I have been riding H-D for 31+ years having owned a 1942 45" flathead, 1949 Panhead (restored, built from scratch), and currently owning a 1968 FLH Shovelhead, (custom restoral, built from scratch) and a 1986 FLST Heritage with over 150,000 miles on it. Also had a couple cone motor shovelheads, but only bought them so I could sell them to Germans coming over here to buy Harleys.

Had my share of Triumphs, Hondas, Yamahas, Hodakas, CZs, Bultacos, Huskies and other dirt bikes, so suffice it to say, I have a few miles under my ass

:thumbsup

Now I know why you are 100% Harley-Davidson... you have the good ol' blood. Don't drive them too hard though, it's solid but not as much as 2003 hondas :winkwink:
