Sales seem to be up for everyone
 

Everybody I have talked to in the last couple of weeks has said that sales were up bigtime. I personally can confirm that dating site sales are thru the roof. 3 months ago I was at $2.25 per free member profit now today I'm at $3.66 per free member profit. Legal tube sites seem to be the ones doing the best overall. Cam and dating sites are buying all the traffic I can generate, I'm having a hard time fullfilling the demand.

Several people I have talked to think this is a result of the errrr "questionable" webmasters being phased out of business due to the epassporte situation. I tend to agree to a point. It makes sense if you think about it. Opinions on this?

Dating sites and Cam sites will always make money I'm pretty sure. Im sure regular porn paysites are still struggling.

On my blog network I had a great month last month. This month is a slight bit better, but very close.

We might never see numbers from 2002 again, but it will get better.

Sales are up, you say. That is good. A revenue/sale for one person is an expense for the other person. Supposedly, the object of increasing GDP is to spin money faster from one person to the other person.

From what I have been able to observe, sales are better across the board.

Kids are finally back to school, dad is alone at home again...after he spent money on clothes and school supplies, he bought a few treats for himself as well. I think the same thing happens after Xmas. A small rush of sales for the self deserving crowd.

Because fathers are at home with nothing to do between 9am-3pm?

After buying school supplies he decides he can spring for a $1 trial?

You might be right. Lots of guys are out of work and drawing unemployment

light at the end of tunnel... good to hear some good news here for once, gets cumbersome to say the least when all you login and see is stuff going sideways.

Another overlooked factor is now that the new cc regs are firmly in place and people have had time to "adjust" their spending habits (like no more going over limits without knowing, etc) and things are actually getting better.

Of course, this lasts until the next 'crises' cums along.

LMAO, you guys are worse then domain sellers who go around trying to hype the value of other people's domains, so they think they can drive up market value because.... they sell domains.

The two traffic brokers raving about how great sales are doing... Interesting. I just read a post from Mark a few minutes ago about him slashing prices or some real cheap deals... now why would that be so if everyone was making tons of sales, wouldn't they be buying everything you have opposed to your dropping the prices to try to move it?

yeap, it never fails, someone has a good week (or bad) and they think they need to try to justify it with some bullshit, like kids were out of school, kids went back to school, it was hot, it was cold, it was summer, it was winter, it was ground hog day. :upsidedow


in 10+ years doing this I have NEVER seen a trend. I might have a bad June this year, but a great one next year. I might have a bad christmas day one year, be avg the next and kick ass the one after. No pattern what so ever. The only thing that affects my sales is me, and how much and well I work. on sept fucking 11, 2001 I had an average day. How do you explain that, people stuck in airports, everyone glued to the tv, the country in termoil I ripped off at least 50 credit card joins that day which was average at the time.

now visa stepping in and reducing 1/2 the people in the country;s credit limits down to what they fucking owe.... that is a kick in the nuts over night and hurts bad.

In a weird kinda disturbing way to a numbers/stats geek like me, what you point out from your expeirnce Will is kinda comforting. LOL I look for patterns and trends constantly - perhaps it's the human mind's natural tendencies - and have to remember that not all I'm seeing is necassarily tied to what I THINK is the "reason". So hearing there ARE no "patterns" makes sense, again in a weird kinda way.

I agree that a person's hard work is what determines success, and never-ending dedication. Sometimes - and I'm so guilty of this - we who work hard forget about "lag time": our efforts may take a few days or weeks or even months to "pay off" so we bust our nuts for 16 hours a day for a solid week, see no increase in sales, and freak out a little bit (or a lot). LOL I'm learning to take a slightly (slightly) longer view of things. :)

Yeap, lag time is important too, not everyone buys the first time they hit a site. But for the most part, if you neglect your stuff for any amount of time it will go down. I don't care where you get your traffic from. People will move from one site to the next, Sites will change, Competition will creep up on you, no time for slackers! :thumbsup

Summer is always slow, September picks up, adjust for slack economy but the seasonal pattern has been like this for the last 10 years.

overall sales are up this month, not much more than expected after the mid-months, yesterday sucked tho... random day..

I can't speak for others but for me yes everyone has bought up everything I have, no price cuts here. In fact I'm desperate for more feeder traffic, especially gay traffic. For the first time in over a year I am accepting new resellers.

This August and September, especially September are the best I've seen for sales in quite a while.

If I were you I would do the same thing most sponsors have done already, make your own free site that you use to promote your sites and build it up in traffic. This not only gets sales but gives you a longterm traffic supply of your own. Hit me up on ICQ I'll show you some of the sites sponsors have made for this exact purpose.

Dating campaigns are very good for me this month

Well compared to running a affiliate system, having 1 or more guys full time taking care of affiliates, catering to their every demand, then you have the affiliate fraud, not to mention advertising to get affiliates. And you have only begun. The only affiliates willing to try out your program without being paid up front are...wait there aren't any. All the affiliates worth having are whales and when you do land one they can and will hold you hostage. And then if you have 1 or 2 whales what happens if another sponsor offers them more money than you can afford to pay them?

Nothing worthwhile is easy. If your a sponsor and are going to make a free site that does not trade traffic, yeah it's very difficult. Trade traffic and it is relatively easy.

September will be our best month ever sales/ profit wise (i only started in 2005 to send decent joins)
