Police alert: 5 adults, 9 children plan mass suicide
Group reported missing after Palmdale, Calif., church service

PALMDALE, Calif. ? Officials in Southern California on Saturday evening issued an emergency alert for five adults and nine children believed to be planning a mass suicide, BNO News reported.

The group was believed to be traveling in two vehicles, a Nissan Quest and a Mercury Villager, the California Highway Patrol said.

However, the members may have changed vehicles after disappearing.

BNO also reported a late model Toyota Tundra was involved, too.

The missing group was last seen around 1 a.m. PDT on Saturday at a prayer meeting at a Palmdale, Calif., church, according to the CHP. They left in three vehicles with an unknown destination.

Numerous letters were later found that essentially state the group was going to heaven shortly to meet Jesus and their deceased relatives.

"It is believed, through further investigation, that the missing persons' intentions are to commit mass suicide," the CHP said.

Two husbands of two of the church members reported the persons missing at around 2 p.m. PDT, BNO News said.

"They were in possession of a bag that contained identification of all the missing persons, currency, possessions, and numerous letters," CHP said.

I wonder if they believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Rabbit too? Probably not, those fucking hypocrites.

I believe LACR closed down a few years ago after the lease expired on the land.

marcop 09-18-2010 09:44 PM

I'm sure if I lived in Palmdale I'd want to commit suicide too.

How is believing in a supreme being but not Santa Claus being hypocritical?

He cuts the lawn on Wednesdays. I'll let him know you're looking for him.

ottopottomouse 09-19-2010 05:32 AM

Can't comment on the children but any adult that wants to commit suicide to go to heaven and meet Jesus doesn't need finding and stopping.

Caligari 09-19-2010 05:47 AM

lived in lancaster (next to palmdale) for about 8 years growing up. at the time there was alot of wide open desert but the last time i went thru there it was all built up with ugly ass clone mcmansions and condos. I could see why people are now psychotic.

its the land of Zappa and Beefheart, Frank did a song or two about it-

There is a big difference between believing in a supreme being, and believing in a story about a magic carpenter who was also his own father written by some wackjob 2000 years ago. :2 cents:

Too bad, that was a cool drag strip. Loved going to see the rocket and jet cars. Leaning over the fence, roasting marshmellows

Jesus claimed to be his own father? Never heard about that one.

PastorSinAlot 09-19-2010 09:32 AM

Palmdale is not a bad city, over 200,000 people out there and on the West side great schools.

Martin 09-19-2010 09:38 AM

I was told that killing yourself was a one way ticket to hell?

Amputate Your Head 09-19-2010 09:42 AM

why is this news?

somewhere in the world, 5 adults and 9 children are dying of something as we speak.... car wreck, smoking, cancer, plane crash, drowning, poisoning, etc....

there is death every hour. who cares if 14 people decide to check out early.

PastorSinAlot 09-19-2010 09:47 AM

hell is hot, easy e and MJ told me

BOTH are fairy tales.

If you believe in one, I can't see why you wouldn't believe in the other. Both are just as likely to be real. :2 cents:

For hell to exist, heaven must also be real...no?

If the Lord is your shepherd then you are a sheep.

Yup, they were in a Antelope Valley park praying. Good job by the police and media to make a big story out of nothing!

They're all fictitious. The meaning behind them is arbitrary because they don't exist. They're just ideas. Logically, if one can have faith in one fictitious being, then there should be no problem believing in all the others. To do otherwise, would be hypocritical.
