Fisherman of GFY
My old man has a birthday coming up and my entire life his fillet knives suck balls. I know he could really use and appreciate a top of the line knife.
What do you use, how long have you had it, and where did you buy it? Thanks folks. |
I hope I am not breaking the rules here since this is definitely not an adult webmaster board I am posting a link to...
you might have much better luck going to the Bass Pro Shop forum and asking them there. Those people are pretty serious about relaxing :) http://forums.basspro.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi |
You always bring a guy fishing who actualy likes cleaning fish , and he always has a good knife :) Keeps your hands cleaner 2.

Maybe just get him a nice knife grinding/honing/sharpening unit? Chef's Choice 120 is said to be a good one, it's about $125 at amazon.
I used to fish a lot, but all catch and release so dont know. Good luck. |
I have one of those thin serrated knives you buy on TV, it works great. I've had it for years
|
My friends and I were fishing once and one guy was playing around and set his fillet knife on my bare thigh as I sat fishing. It was just touching and started to cut my skin which made me flinched and he slit me half way across my thigh all the way to the muscle.
I'd ask him what kind of knife he used but I'm pretty much still mad at him :winkwink: |

For deep sea...The deckhands always clean my fish.
For lake fishing I'll use one of those cheap ones with the wooden handle. |
