You will love this! epassporte related but not about them

first of all, Payserve is checking out alternative payment options for our affiliates. Right now we offer wires (no fee) and checks.

Since my bank (LOL @ bank) does not even know what a fucking SWIFT Code is... I am serious here, they do not know what one is and had to call their home office who did know what one was...

they just did not have one....

I thought the best option would be to go with a check. Luckily, since I am in the US the check is issued from the US branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland (who also happens to own Citizens National Bank here is the US) it is a huge international bank that is well known and dare I say it.. well respected... this is NOT MY BANK, just the one the check was issued from

The check itself is...plain and simple... a check, printed out by the RBS (rbs.com) with the pertinent information on it including the routing number. So we take this check to our bank to cash it. We sign the fucker and hand it over to the teller, a woman we have known there for 8 years
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:3...-puppy.jpg&t=1
"What's this?"
"It is a check that I would like to cash"
"It looks funny" (I am not kidding that is a quote)
"Funny? What do you mean funny? It is a bank issued check"
"Let me call the manager over"

Manager arrives

"what seems to be the problem?"
"No problem, I would like to cash this check"
"it doesn't look right"
"Well... it is a check issued from a bank, what does not look right about it?"
"it doesn't look right" pause "Let me call someone"

so they call, they fax the check to this other person who promptly declares that "it does not look right" to them either.

Keep in mind, this in not a piece of paper that someone hand wrote 'We owes this here money to Jim' this is a fucking bank issued check. It is STANDARD.

end of the day... they will not accept this check for cash or deposit (not even for deposit) cuz it looks funny to them (WHY did I move to Kentucky) and I am looking for a new bank. It would be very simple for the bank to verify this check, all they would have to do is use the information provided by us that is clearly printed on the freaking check

Kisses to Chris Mallick, his bank and VISA for providing me with such and enjoyable banking experience. Kudos

here i have to write a letter about the check im depositing, what the money is for, and who its from... they wanted the sponsor to write them a note saying its OK to deposit the money into my account but i told them they gotta be kidding so the guy 'pulled some strings' and talked their accountant into not needing that

idiots everywhere

I guess this is more common than I thought but I am talking about a US Bank issued check trying to be cashed or deposited into another US bank.... the funny thing is that RBS is HUGE, it is a massive financial institution and the one I am trying to cash it at.... well it is not so large heh heh

You are correct fine sire.

OneWhoKnows 09-24-2010 07:25 AM

Ouch. You told me the story about the SWIFT code before, but the check thingy... WTF? When I walk into a small branch of my bank even with an international check in a foreign currency and language, they still know what to do to deposit it. Even the 16 year old trainee already does.

Really fucked up story, but funny... not for you though :winkwink:

BlackCrayon 09-24-2010 07:25 AM

are you in the sticks man?

Right? They told me it was a FAKE check that I made so I said "Well then don't you think you should call the cops and report me?" they said no we're not going to do that. LMFAO So I went to another branch in the "rich" area and boom everything was fine.

I do not know where you are from, but in the US you can legally write a check by hand on any random piece of paper, make sure you have all the necessary information on it and it is considered to be a valid check......in theory. But Bank issued checks or ones sent from the one of the largest corporations in the world (I speak of google of course) to not accept that is preposterously bad business practices LOL

North Carolina... Kentucky... I am seeing a pattern here! LOL just kidding

Adraco 09-24-2010 07:54 AM

Oh the laugther you just offered me. I can imagine the feeling, standing there, trying to convince them to cash it for you. In situations like that you just gotta step back and enjoy the show... :)

XSV 09-24-2010 08:00 AM

Most regional/local US Banks don't use the international SWIFT system and the employees look like deer in headlights when you ask them about it, it's pathetic. You will need to have an account with one of the major national or international banks to send and receive them in the USA.
