Why do humans still have body hair?
 

Is it to remind us we are animals? Besides eye brows, eye lashes, & head hair, whats the use of the rest of it?

wait until you hit 40 if you aren't there yet - you'll be seeing body hair that was there all along but not really visible.

I've been Austin Powers hairy since I was 16. Some chicks dig it, others don't. Either way I don't care, I don't feel like spending $50 in razors a month to shave.

I do trim/shave the cash and prizes and my arms though.

I don't really get the point other than catching sweat, but it also catches odor if you stink. So win/lose on that one.

i'm talking about thick hair, like pubic hair, eyebrows, ect ... 10,000 years back we were REALLY hairy, in 10,000 years time, we won't have any ... its called evolution.

We've only had residential air conditioning or temp control for the last 60-70 years. I'm guessing before that people just had to deal with whatever the temp was outside. Hair, or at least certain hair, will probably be phased out eventually because of always being in a room temp and also because of shaving or pulling hair out.

I also hear our pinky toes will disappear because they're of no use but who knows.

I have hair in all the wrong places and not enough in the right places...

Nope it keeps growing, 2 years ago I didn't have hair on the inside of my arms now I do and my back is getting scary.

err, wrong! most warmth is lost thru the head of a human! its there to stay for 2reasons: 1st to keep the grey matter warm and 2nd to keep it from overheating when its too warm ... also, pubic hair is there to stay; why? its increasing the skins surface and makes the area more sensible; and its also to help shed pheromones to stimulate the opposite sex :2 cents:

The question should probably be rephrased as something like "why don't humans have almost ALL hair like every other mammal?"

The answer is that our brains are so large that they need an efficient cooling system, and a good lining of fur would impede our ability to evaporate sweat.
