Pretty decent deal, amazing the poor resale value on a $100k car, sad what happens to the S class and 7 series Bimmers.

GTS Mark 09-30-2010 08:22 AM

nice ride, what did you get as a replacement?

Zuzana Designs 09-30-2010 08:24 AM

Really nice car. I looked at a couple Mercedes last week. That's a good price for that car.

RyuLion 09-30-2010 08:24 AM

Indeed, they go around 29000-29500$-ish around here for 100K km (2003).

:Oh crap

:Oh crap

But most likely they are not repainted....No offense, but in the world of cars. Saying it has a "New Paint Job" typically isn't a good sign for a 2003 car. What did you have to repaint a mercedes that is 7,8 years old? The paint on those cars usually lasts a lifetime..

O MARINA 09-30-2010 09:10 AM

Mercedes should make it mandatory that anyone driving their Benz's should not be allowed to bargain with anyone ever

that's bs, only a fool wouldn't bargain on a $20k item....:2 cents:

I have to disagree with you here Supz. I've got a 2003 Saab that has in the last couple of months lost it's sheen on the hood. Tried waxing with no luck and then found out that with the clear coat finish they put on cars it will eventually become dull and the only solution is new paint.

So that's why seeing that it has a "New Paint Job" would not worry me. Also you've got to remember that the car is based in Canada so the winters may not be so kind to the paint finish either.

Nice car and a nice deal for someone geoGUERILLA :thumbsup

new body style = older body styles worth a LOT less

plus it being a 7 year old car is worth more than some brand new cars

Jdoughs 09-30-2010 11:28 AM

Key piece of info about the paint job.

This is a Canadian car, if you drive it everyday, the paint won't last long, salt/sand and shit we use in the winter destroys cars.

Our Escape has been painted 3 times, but I run this shit out of it. (7 years old)

Elli 09-30-2010 12:28 PM

not a bad deal at all! The paint job would make me ask questions, but on the other hand, it's a nice perk if it's not hiding any accidents. Good luck with the sale!

I have a 2002 s600 v12 merc 94,000km if anyone wants it $15000

Ross 09-30-2010 12:33 PM

If it was Black and I didn't just buy a car down here in Windsor, I'd have bought it from you and brought it down here. Good luck with the sale.

CamJack 09-30-2010 12:35 PM

If you knew this guy you would understand the paint job....believe me this car was baby'ed like nothing you could imagine. 56 year old guy's car.
This guy has winter rims and tires for Christ's sake. This isn't Snoop Dogg's ride....

CamJack 09-30-2010 12:38 PM

This is his other car:

Nice car!

I just picked up a 06 ford explorer last week. I needed something bigger to haul around the growing family.

mburns 09-30-2010 01:28 PM

that car looks like it's in good shape

did you also put it on ebay?

CamJack 09-30-2010 02:44 PM

I can't believe I wasted my 1000th post on this.
I saw I was at 1002 and was like, OH MAN....

Not true at all. The clearcoat can be watersanded and polished back to a shine very easily.

And our 'Canadian winters' wouldn't do a thing to a paint job. its the rusting at the seams and wheel wells from the road salt that does you in.

Back when the US dollar was through the roof I was working for a company exporting hundreds of vehicles a week to the US through Buffalo. A quick search on Google doesn't show any chronic issue to justify a paint job. Personally I'd be very concerned about an 03 Mercedes that needed a complete paint job. But that's just me. :2 cents:
