Request to Eric and the gfy regime - please improve search!
 

Eric and the GFY team,

Please improve the search function. the 90 seconds delay is annoying, and it never seems to find things properly.

I'm not sure you could improve the actual results but atleast drop the 90 second waiting time down a bit (And I don't mean make it 89 seconds :winkwink: )

Yea the search on this board is screwed up. It may show one recent thread but the rest are ancient. :error

Search google, the GFY search hasn't worked properly since I joined almost 7 years ago.

It's usually OK but sometimes it needs like 4 or 5 attempts with different terms to find what you're looking for.

Or about 6 minutes after waiting for the timer to countdown :disgust

After that I usually give up :upsidedow

I agree, the results are irrelevant and from really old threads while the latest ones are missing. Also limiting number of letters in searched term is annoying.

Nice to hear that it actually DOES WORK at least some of the time.

Last few times I had tried it, was not working at ALL.

It seems like the multiple domains (gfy.com, gofuckyourself.com, etc) complicates being able to do a more complete search with Google.

A query such as:

(site:gfy.com | site:gofuckyourself.com) "search phrase here"

doesn't appear to work right either as it doesn't look like Google allows you to use OR with "site:" Anyone know of a way which works better?
