California & Marijuana - GFY Poll for PROP19 - Vote Now!
Fellow Californian's, with the Nov 2nd vote coming up in a month, have you decided how you're voting for Prop 19??
Here's how the State Measure appears in the sample ballot: LEGALIZES MARIJUANA UNDER CALIFORNIA BUT NOT FEDERAL LAW. PERMITS LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TO REGULATE AND TAX COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION, AND SALE OF MARIJUANA. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Allows people 21 years old or older to possess, cultivate, or transport marijuana for personal use. Fiscal Impact: Depending on federal, state, and local government actions, potential increased tax and fee revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually and potential correctional savings of several tens of millions of dollars annually. If you plan to Vote on Tuesday, Nov 2nd 2010, then MAKE SURE YOU ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE. I heard on the last Joe Rogan podcast that a lot of pro-pot CA people are actually fighting against this and don't want it to pass because now that they are making money selling legally it going to hurt their profits.

I dont live in California any longer but I still think pot should be legal.

In case you missed the news:
Late yesterday evening, Governor Schwarzenegger signed SB 1449, a bill sponsored by Sen. Mark Leno that downgrades the possession of one ounce or less of marijuana from a misdemeanor to an infraction. This will spare petty marijuana offenders the necessity of a court appearance and criminal arrest record while saving the state millions of dollars in court and prosecution expenses. In explaining his decision, the Governor hit the nail on the head: "In this time of drastic budget cuts, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and the courts cannot afford to expend limited resources" prosecuting marijuana possession. This is probably an attempt to have people think "well now that it's an infraction, I don't need to vote on Prop19" ... |
Lets legalize marijuana everywhere............... I go around throwing seeds where ever I walk so that pot will one day cover the entire planet!

If you make it legal, then two things are going to happen, first, the state government will regulate it, I would love to see brownies at the liquor barn, but not taxed the way cigarettes are.
Two, because now it's a controlled substance, the feds stay out of it, if they make it legal, then Obama will step in, and considering what happened in Arizona, do you really want that? I vote no, if you want it, get a script, maybe $150, then the state people have little control over it, you can grow it in your back yard |
Vote yes.
