one of these stupid russian hacker gangs ran an exploit on the server, so now its being used as part of a botnet for DDOS attacks or whatever, i just need a clean OS reload, i believe - anyway, they are being entirely unhelpful, i just need to get my sites back online, they are telling me 2 days... 2 days? i mean, wtf? i can just find another provider and get setup within hours.

We are not telling you 2 days. You have an unmanaged server.
We have given you many tools for you to help yourself (including KVM over IP) and guidance on what to do, and the option to upgrade to management is always available.

We told you that your DDOS can last for an undetermined amount of time, even up to 2 days.
Moving your files, means moving your exploited and hacked files right along with them, and your DDOS will start right back up at your new IP address.

You need to find the actual source of your exploit, FIX IT, THEN clean up all your hacked files, THEN figure out WHY you are being DDoSed so that you actually have access to your sites.

why not offer to upgrade me to Managed hours ago, instead of wasting my time and confusing me with KVM? that would be so much easier. i didn't know if i was managed or unmanaged with this server to tell you the truth, the guy sold me the plan a long time ago on ICQ when it was PacificRack.

I have not even had it confirmed that this IS a DDOS attack against me - what are the details? where is it coming from? i can't see anything from here, you're leaving me in the dark.

And you are wrong with the scare-tactics, i have clean backups of everything from before the exploit, which will be fine.

Soo... i'm still looking for a MANAGED dedicated server - 2 servers, in fact, i'll take this opportunity to upgrade.

I have 4 un-managed servers at Pacific and have been very happy with support, had a problem last year I couldn't fix so I upgraded one server to managed and they solved the issue, the upgrade to managed was inexpensive btw

that may be a good idea. Either way, contact him and I'm sure that he can get you what you need at a good price.

see if you have customers on Unmanaged servers, when they have problems like this it is the ideal time to upsell managed support packages ... or hell, even just saying we'll fix all this for $amount would of had me sold. learn from these guys mistakes. i was just left locked out of my server, mad frustrated, and handed a complicated KVM app (maybe i'm supposed to be grateful but i had no idea how to use it lol)

If I were a hosting company I wouldn't touch this customer. He sounds like a real pain in the ass. I mean, whining because he signed up for an unmanaged server without knowing the slightest thing about managing a server then badmouths the host because they didn't fix his problem??? What a choad.

if you were a hosting company, you wouldn't touch me? i've had this server with pacificrack for 14-15 months now, paid my bill every month on time, and only opened 3 tickets that whole time with small questions.

Quadranet scammed me 400 usd, and deleted all info in my server, i requested a downgrade... they never did it, for months.
when i requested them to discount the $, they just formatted the disks. and one hour after the server was taken down they told me the files were not recoverable.
BEWARE, quadranet is run by scammers.

Not even Alphared (which dissapeared) screwed me the way Quadranet did.

I have had a few boxes with them and their support is top notch!!!!! Spend the $35/month, it' fucking worth it!!!!!!!!

But you come here badmouthing them for not fixing something that isn't their problem. You're not worth the tiny profit they're probably making from you. Do everyone a favor and get yourself a managed server.
