LiquidMedia users in here please.

Anyone else having problems with Zend? One of my sites running LM has been working fine for longer than a year and suddenly it pops errors about Zend not being installed on my server. I double checked with my host and they say it's related to the script, not the server.

Now I have a site that won't work anymore. LM's support is non existent since Eric fled so what the fuck am I supposed to do? It's not a huge loss financially but it's still a pain in the ass losing ANY site at this point.

TheDA 10-06-2010 09:20 AM

Do a search on here, I think there was a guy that could help with some of the issues!

Gambrinus 10-06-2010 09:40 AM

I use it... for about a year now with no trouble. I worry about this sort of thing as well. If a problem pops up we are fucked. Here is a bump for you.

Anyone managed to import LM data into another cms by chance?

st0ned 10-06-2010 09:46 AM

I ran LM sites before I was ever involved with the project in any way. Once Eric bailed I also got worried that something would go wrong considering the amount of time I have put into my main LM site.

I was able to contact Eric some months after everything went down, I can try to pull the ICQ number for you if you wish. I have always hated the fact that everything is encoded. Kinda screws us since the project went under if we want to modify or fix anything.

Aside from that I have not come across anyone who was able to do much aside from Eric considering it is all encoded. Would be great if someone who had the ability could chime in and get the business from all of us who continue to use the LM script.

JamesK 10-06-2010 09:59 AM

Thanks guys! Looks like my host fixed it with the original copy of the script. Some files probably got corrupted or whatever.

I am definitely going to look into moving this over to WP in the future. If I find any solution for the data migration, I'll share it here.

Please do. I have always wanted to switch mine over to another platform that would allow for expansion. I have an incredible amount of data plugged into LM.

If any coders/programmers out there think they are capable of migrating it, I am sure we could come up with a handful of people to pitch in and make it well worth their while. I know of a handful of other larger sites still running LM as well.

I am definitely in. I like LM, I have invested a lot of time and energy into a website powered by it, but its problems like the OP was having that scare the hell out of me. Id hate to get another year down the road and just have 2 years worth the work wiped out.

I dont even have the original install laying around. :Oh crap

Yep, if I was any good with PHP & databases I'd have jumped on this right away. There's definitely an opportunity here for a coder to win trust, respect and a lot of business. There's 3 of us already here, and I'm sure MANY others would gladly lay down some cash for this aswell. Let's hope someone steps up :)

fusionx 10-06-2010 11:14 AM

I bought 5 licenses and just about had one site ready to move live when Eric bailed out. I'm glad the old site was still running.

I'd be interested in joining this effort, if there was some indication it would be a long-term effort. I wouldn't want to do this and see the developer walk away in a month or two.

st0ned 10-06-2010 11:16 AM

I also have 5+ licenses.

If someone capable of taking things over chimes in, I have access to everyone I spoke to back when LM was still pumping among other things. I am assuming I could get at minimum another 10 people on to pitch in.

JD 10-06-2010 12:15 PM

so sad that LM died :/ was a great allinone type script

Grisey 10-06-2010 12:42 PM

Eric answer to one webmaster on here to fix his script that was so fucked its un real... eirc wanted $700 and he would sell him a verison which then another coder could fix up eric shit.

Gambrinus 10-06-2010 02:28 PM

Has anyone tried to get zend free version from him?

shmangee 10-06-2010 03:46 PM

eric

That POS should have been thrown in jail from his raptor scam before this one

php 5.3.x doesnt work with zend, i had a problem when upgrading from php 5.2.x to 5.3.x, i had to downgrade.

probably that is the problem.

LM support, good luck, i see him from time to time in #jquery on freenet, doesnt response to msgs, he abonded his old project raptor, a tgp script a lot of non nude webmasters used, and they were stuck with software they couldnt update, or support that didnt happen. he has a track record of doing this.

sorry man.

I'm pretty sure it's possible. There's a bunch of people offering that service online.

Personally, I'm trying to stick to Open Source scripts, or at least scripts that don't have full source encoded. I've been burned too many times on closed source scripts.

Nicky 10-06-2010 08:26 PM

I have this script set up on www.scandalmovies.com never did anything with It when the fucker ran off. Is It worth doing something?

st0ned 10-09-2010 01:21 PM

Bump for more. If someone could import the LM data to Wordpress it would be LEGIT. Probably more complex than importing it into something else though.

Those that think they can dezend it. What would make it worth your while?

sarettah 10-09-2010 01:30 PM

If I could get a look at one of your databases that feeds the script I could give you an informed opinion of what it would take to get the data out.

That would probably be the first step, I would think.

So if anyone wants to give me a half hours access through phpmyadmin or something I could tell you what I think.

The Captain 10-09-2010 01:35 PM

I would be interested if someone could dezend it...

the code would be messy.

not orig code

munki 10-09-2010 04:13 PM

No reason to dezend to port data... db access and patience piecing together a proper port to whichever cms people want would get it handled. I'm slammed until end of the month, but if this is still an issue get in touch, and I'll do some poking around.

kektex 10-09-2010 04:38 PM

theres a bunch of dezenders online. I think that the most legit one is a chinese site, but its not cheap.
Im not pro-piracy but im tired of getting fucked by these deadbeat programmers that go missing after they collect their money. If you are gonna abandon the software at least release the code!

No kidding? Well if someone else doesn't step up to the plate I think I have a few copies of LM running on sites which I don't care too much about, I could get you access sometime next week.

So you are saying there is no point in dezending the code?

Sounds good! I am quite sure that there are quite a few of us willing to chip in on a solution. I will start digging up other LM users. :thumbsup

you wouldnt be able to read the code.

Fenris Wolf 10-18-2010 01:36 PM

If anyone can post the full server requirements I would appreciate it. I can't find any documentation on their website.

Mutt 10-18-2010 01:39 PM

Eric did offer me an unencoded version for 1K. :Oh crap

Was that before or after he disappeared and stopped providing updates and support?

If you ever get in contact with him again I would be more than happy to chip in for the unencoded version. I recently had an OS upgrade and since then I have a number of errors that my tech support can't figure out since the source files are encoded. Hence my original request for the server requirements.:Oh crap

k0nr4d 10-19-2010 12:22 AM

Im sure i'd be able to port the videos to my script if anyone would be interested in that.

Still tied up with other projects? Emailing you now. Would really be interested in getting my data transferred into another CMS.

I would be interested in that but most of my content is pictures at the moment. Any solution for a pic/vid site?
