Epass going under = Good thing?

I can't help but feel like epass taking a dive is a good thing as far as this industry goes...

bufferover 10-06-2010 01:37 PM

Waiting checks is not a good thing but ok

epassporte - cash instant
checks - at least 6 weeks to get the cash in my hands

exactly my point. The scammers out there just lost a MAJOR tool for them

erm they can still scam...? not sure how it makes a difference....

It might be a good thing in the long run if several alternatives to epass are offered... competition is a good thing...

signupdamnit 10-06-2010 01:52 PM

I think there are worse companies in this industry who need to go. In my opinion there are companies in this industry who probably qualify for prosecution under the RICO act. I consider it possible that epassporte's demise is in part due to more government attention because of the past acts of certain misbehaving companies within the industry. :2 cents:

What is the ratio of scammers to legit webmasters you think?

Yeah they can still scam, but there's a lot more time involved now that programs can use to pick up on the scam. Same with non-program users as well.

Jarmusch 10-06-2010 02:10 PM

the scammers have plenty of options to keep on scamming.. cashx, okpay, paxum etc

alias 10-06-2010 02:11 PM

I was thinking the same thing, this cuts a lot of people out.

Might even see some scammers getting scammed, if you are talking users. A smarter scam would obviously be to start a payment service, either way it is a change.

PornMD 10-06-2010 02:14 PM

Maybe a good thing in the long run. In the short run, I can't sell shit here because most of the people that would buy my shit would pay Epass.

flashfire 10-06-2010 02:14 PM

if you like losing money its a good thing

true, but none are nearly as prominent as epass was. And honestly I don't think any will get the same level of acceptance as epass did. Purely because of epass's recent implosion

andrej_NDC 10-06-2010 02:16 PM

Some company will replace them quick, nothing will change. Paxum, payoneer or even paypal for aff payments.

SykkBoy 10-06-2010 02:31 PM

The phillipino chatters are pretty much screwed

HomerSimpson 10-06-2010 02:45 PM

not a big deal since we have new, ready to go solutions,
so nothing big will change...

Scammers always figure out another way, it is the honest people that are getting screwed here.

While in AMS and BCN I talked to several people, affiliates and employees of big companies that are being negatively impacted because of the inability to get paid in a timely and inexpensive manner. Check fees that are higher than our wire fees and some places that just do not take them for any reason.

I don't think the scammers are quite as concerned. :2 cents:

Yeah I agree. I see a lot of traffic evaporating very soon and in fact a lot of the brokers are way down on availability now.

Darkcrni 10-07-2010 11:01 AM

All i know am fucking waiting for checks, and when i have'em in my hands i wait for more then 30 days to cash it.
So its fucked up anyhow!

Sid70 10-07-2010 11:04 AM

I hope they burn the ledger as they drain.

martinsc 10-07-2010 11:05 AM

I fucking hate to lose the convenience of epass, but I'm sure the biz will get rid of a few scammers and maybe even some wanna be webmaster kiddies.....
