PAXUM is the best epass alternative. Here's why:

Paxum has the lowest fees and the highest withdrawal limits, and is the only service that lets you withdraw funds through wire.

CashX = very low withdrawal limits ($500/day)
Payoneer = very high fees up to 3% of transaction + some fixed cash. No P2P.

Paxum = :thumbsup

SomeCreep 10-12-2010 01:49 AM

negative rep niggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

icymelon 10-12-2010 01:52 AM

I think 500 withdrawal limit per day is probably good for 99% of webmasters here.

Quence 10-12-2010 01:55 AM

why settle for $500 when you can have $2500 ?

also, Paxum has best support.

TeenCat 10-12-2010 01:57 AM

paksum looks good, waiting for card, anybody got it already?

nextri 10-12-2010 01:58 AM

but you can't load the account with a credit card right?
They need to get that available. Doing an international wire that takes 2-5 days is too slow.

Most people just want an option to receive payments from sponsors and do P2P with low fees.

Also, wire transfer takes 3 business days at most, unless you're doing it through some 3rd world bank.

i just signed up with paxum and payoneer.. :)

janosik 10-12-2010 03:28 AM

Paxum has best support among all their competitors ... that is why I use them.

Phooq 10-12-2010 06:05 AM

Paxum is the fastest growing with more Sponsors joining them daily.

FuzzyDunlop 10-12-2010 06:33 AM

What makes u think that any alternative epassporte service won't go the same way epassporte did?
I have no problem offering another payment option in addition to checks and wires however I don't have any faith in 3rd party payment systems.

RuthB 10-12-2010 06:35 AM

We have competitive fees and an easy signup process.

I'm available to chat about Paxum anytime! :thumbsup

I'd love to chat with you about our system to show you the benefits.

We're based out of Montreal, Canada, a Canadian incorporated company. We bank with the Bank of Montreal for our ewallet/current accounts, providing the security of banking with a Canadian Government backed bank.

We provide our prepaid cards through the Choice Bank of Belize in order to be able to offer the prepaid cards to International webmasters instead of only North American ones.

For sponsors, our system is easy to integrate with some nifty tools that make bulk payments super fast and very simple.

Like I said I'd be happy to go through our system with you if you have a few minutes. Please feel free to contact me anytime

Just a hunch, but something about paxum I don't trust. As long as you don't keep a balance in the account you should be fine, but they are skirting a thin line as far as DD goes and won't last that long IMO.

brassmonkey 10-12-2010 07:25 AM

no thanx

panchodog's izzy 10-12-2010 07:27 AM

I already signed up with both Paxum and Payoneer, since those are the options my clients will be using. Since there is no door to door mail here, I had to contact CS for both companies to make sure the cards are sent by the adequate channels and I actually get them. CS on the phone for both companies has been very fast and efficient, and both cards are on the way. One came by DHL (Payoneer) and should be delivered to me today and the other one is coming by mail to my Miami PO BOx (Paxum). Up to now, everything seems more than good in terms of service. My only word of advice for those who can afford to do so: Don't keep funds in them, receive and withdraw, receive and withdraw.

"Daniel san, receive and withdraw. Receive and withdraw."

"But I want to learn Karate! I'm sick and tired of receiving and withdrawing!"

"When your funds get stuck in your wallet or your VV, you will remember Mister Miyagi and you will wish you had received and withdrawn..."

:P

Well I don't think you can blame Paxum or any of the new alternatives because Epass fucked us all up the ass. All your doing is "painting them all with the same brush" so I think you have to give all these guys a chance and stay cautious to how much money you keep in them.

If you hear that they are going into the movies or sponsoring the Commonwealth Games then get out fast. :2 cents:

Epass alternative = Finding yourself a new thief to hold your money after your last one left you?

chronig 10-12-2010 08:08 AM

Payoneer = shit so fuck them
okpay and cashx seem decent
but Paxum does have the best fees and flexibility

fuzebox 10-12-2010 08:36 AM

Payoneer does not charge 3%. When withdrawing cash in your local currency from a non-USD ATM, they may charge a currency conversion fee UP TO 3%, JUST LIKE most other banks and debit cards, including Epassporte. The difference is, Payoneer tells you in advance.

HomerSimpson 10-12-2010 09:19 AM

CashX looks best to me... :thumbsup

But Paxum doesn't, right? Or am I mistaken?

As far as I know, Webmoney, CahsX and many others allow to withdraw funds through wire.

Too soon to tell. AlertPay is good, they are working to get their own debit card too.

pretty much how i feel about any alternative

easy to say "we're not like epass because..." when you're using hindsight

6 months ago, even epassporte didn't think they were 'epassporte'

what happens when VISA or whoever shuts down the next 'alternative'

That's what I learn from epass. I was once a huge fan of paxum too until I found cashx. Never send your money offshore again is my lesson and make sure the money service is diversify and insured like FDIC/CDIC. I agree Cashx may have some limitation/disadvantage , but so does Paxum however I feel safer with Cashx and the only one I'm willing to send in my ID.

Exactly. We got hit with webmaster checks issue firstly, then our affiliates were affected by Epassporte. If Visa decides they don't like the next 3rd party payment system they will be gone also.

That said I think we will offer Paxum as an option to our affiliates to use "at their own risk" and we will be sure not to leave more than each pay periods funds in our business account with them.

Not saying Paxum is a bad company just that they are operating in a super "high risk" area right now.

You're wrong. the up to 3% fee doesn't have anything to do with currency conversion. They take it on every transaction + a fixed fee.

no way, i miss so much my old epassporte card with 100000$ / day withdrawal limit :( and the low fees, and the detailed statements..

bolsex 10-12-2010 11:13 AM

dont like Paxum

V_RocKs 10-12-2010 11:13 AM

Payoneer wants $3 to put the money they already have into my account immediately. And by immediately they mean 2 hours? WTF is that shit about? Then $2.50 or so to withdrawal it from an ATM... Lame!

epitome 10-12-2010 11:17 AM

My gut usually never fails me and like someone above said, I'm uneasy with Paxum for some reason.

One thing may be that they are trying just a little too hard.

Plus, there has been some disinformation from their reps. For instance, Ruth said that all wallet funds are protected by the CDIC, when in fact only the first $100,000 of an account are protected. All wallet funds may have as little as $100k in aggregate protection. Even if there are multiple accounts (say 5), if it's like the FDIC, they have to be different types, titled different ways to get the $100k for each account.

There was the whole PO Box fiasco and then we're magically presented an address that is to a month-to-month business center (read: no long term lease obligations like a typical 5 year office lease).

Then there is the penis pill association.

Then there is the past no past processing or real financial experience.

Then there are the bugs that programmers discovered.

The misspellings on the website.

The "we're Canadian, but yeah, you're card funds will be in Belize" (yes, I do understand the reasoning of that 100% but I felt like they tried to gloss over that in the beginning).

Then there is the zero experience in the money transfer business.

Then there are the anonymous investors, which is pretty common but there has been a little shady shit over the years in that city and some of us are worried that the anonymous investors are people that got ran out of the biz trying to get back in.

That is just off the top of my head.

A lot of that could have been alleviated through better planning and training but they were more worried about chasing the Epass buck than proper planning and training and that is yet another alarm.

For me it was $5 to have the funds in the card within 2 hours. And $2 to have it in two days. I guess the fees vary depending on which sponsor sent you the cash or which sponsor created your account. But yeah, it fucking sucks!

OKPAY starts at $2500 and will raise your limit to anything you want if you verify your address by mail.
