How many still use sponsor RSS feeds? How many would if they didn't suck?
How many of you still use sponsor RSS feeds?
How many would use sponsor RSS feeds if they weren't complete trash? As far as I've always been able to tell, the sponsors just don't get it. Thoughts? |
I do use rss feeds. Some of them are real good and can be useful when you don't have time to write your own posts.
|
I've found a few that are good but most sponsors but together some really really shitty rss feeds like Pimp Roll. Most of the RSS feeds I see by sponsors are one sentence long if that and then they don't even make sense. Revenge Bucks makes good use of their feeds and I bet a lot of sponsors that put more effort into their feeds would see a lot more sales due to more bloggers using theirs.
|
some are good. good for filler on unused domains or blog networks.
|
I'm know there are some 'better' ones out there but even the best I've seen still suck. Anyone got a link to the actual rss of one they think is great?
|
I'm going through a ton of feeds now. It's maybe 1 in 5 sponsors has feeds that are usable.
|
I use RSS feeds and make sure those in my program are decent for resellers.
|
RSS feed good. Caligari look for MOBILE RSS feed now. Please post if know.
|
post something you've done that doesn't suck. you come up with a new way to revolutionize the industry ever week but never deliver. who cares.
|
Someone of them arern't even good for partial use.
I like to pull them in and rewrite or rework them all, and most don't even work for that. |

:2 cents:
Sponsors over the years sank millions into many affiliate tools. They refined and improved some of them over the years. And didn't with others. Some worked and some didn't, wouldn't you think a lot of this is down to ROI? Writing a program that will morph text enough to make it work with SE spiders and be enticing enough to make surfers sit up is maybe something that's very tough. Especially in major niches. |

you should make some cool ones. would rock man.
|
I use them...
too bad most of the sponsors have shitty feeds or don't update them on time. also morphing feeds are way to go... |
How about morphing gone wrong? "nasty Violet dainty just milk can’t manage not to break her brother’s stuff so she’s back at ***** with her brother to do another smut scene so she milk can pay her brother."

Damn, that's a pretty raw morph. If you guys need CHEAP original materials that are PERSONALITY-DRIVEN, hit me up. These aren't just for keyword sniping--these are actual hot stories.
|
In order for sponsor feeds to work, and sale, they need to have a native english speaking copy writer that understands the niche they are writing for to begin with.
|
I do use them. These that suck I just improve on my side.
|
We supply affiliates with morphed feeds, and we also use our feed on our blogs, so we keep track on whats working, and how well the feeds preform. It keeps us from updating our blogs every day with handwritten content and pictures.

message to sponsors:
Morphing isn't the be all and end all. Just publish as much as you can to a solid rss/xml feed, so those of us who have a clue can do something with it. I might even use a feed just for administration purposes, to know you have a new set I'm interested in. There's just no better way to keep track of your updates. |

I think some of you don't realize the amount of work that is involved creating something like that for a program. Not to mention have them written in not only niche specific language or have them morph but to also have them be able to sell at the same time. How many writers you think that would take? How much code you think that would be to set up something like that?
That being said ours have been completely revamped and will be re-released by November ;) |
Could you guys post some sales numbers as to what proper RSS feeds can bring in?
That's what it boils down to. I'm not saying some affiliates can't use them, I know they can... but how many? And what will the results be? In just over two years I have literally had less than five people ask me about RSS feeds. And sure, that doesn't mean only five people want them... but I have much more than five people asking for other tools. Tools usually follow demand. |

Seems like something that would be obvious to most. |
We do 6 updates a day 5 days a week on our feeds. People are doing very well with them.
|
let's be blunt - blog rss feeds should only be used as filler for unused domains or for blogs down at the bottom of your link pyramid.
the only things needed is: - some readable text. - a decent sized pic. - morphing text would help. - updated on a regular basis. even once a week is fine as long as it's regular. that's it. to waste time trying to make some super-feeds shows one has no practical knowledge of their uses and as usual trying to revolutionize nothing one knows about. |
Many sponsors jumped into RSS train wagoon, but nobody got over few station with updates, so that was fail with some sponsors, on other side some were fine, but then all sponsors add same feeds and what to say kaboom!
