Ron Paul Running for president in 2012
"Ron Paul has indicated that he will embark on a bid to become President in 2012 if the economic crisis worsens"
|
Most excellent!
|
And he will have my vote.
Not because I think he will win, he will never win. But because he will be the best man running worthy of my vote, even if he is a little kooky, he's usually on point. |
He's got my vote, especially being a Libertarian ;) Not to mention the man KNOWS his shit. Ask him the same question 20 times and he'll give you 20 different explanations according to the context in which it was asked.
With most politicians it's always some kind of parley into their prepared speech on the topic. |
Keynes had it all wrong but politicians love his economic philosophy because it preaches market interference and perfectly suits the power mongers...
Austrian Economics is where it's at and anyone that says differently, IMO, does not fully understand economics, what a free market is, and just how random the habits of every individual participating in a market are... and just for fun: |
good thing, although doubtful he can change much if ever gets elected, he will be swimming against the stream
|
haha "if it worsens" - meaning what? If we survive a nuclear war?
Well, when i finally eating out of dumpsters, i'll vote for him for sure. |

Well, if he chooses to run he will have an exploratory committee formed in Jan 2011 and announce in March 2011. So it does look like he will be running, since shit isnt getting better now.
|
He can't possibly win.
None of the big bankers will back him, and they will actually try to rip him down so he is dead in the water from the start. Presidents are put in place by the bankers through the media and other outlets. |

The reality is that Ron Paul won't win because he doesn't want to win. It is very easy to sit where he is and call for action. It is a lot harder to actually get the job and be expected to carry out that action. You can tell he isn't serious about winning because he won't take any money from big business. While this might be honorable, it isn't realistic in the modern world. It takes several hundred million to run a winning campaign. With this being the reality you need big donors and to allow yourself to enter into the machine so you can never raise that kind of cash. Paul knows this. He runs, he gets his message out there and then he conveniently publishes a new book that all the paul fans run out and buy. You might say Paul is just using his donor's money to market his books right back to those same donors. If he were serious he would admit that he has to give into the system to some degree then win the election and once he is president he does as he pleases. Of course he knows it doesn't work that way and even if he won chances are very few of his policies would ever get implemented. So he sells a pipe dream and a book and happily goes about being the guy everyone loves and listens to, but who is never expected to actually carry out these plans. |

But who knows, I also didn't think I'd see a black president in my lifetime either. Ron Paul just may be the kook to put things back where they need to go. |

He knew the base (in this case the religous zealots) would turn out and vote and if he could get enough culture war stuff going he knew those who were against abortion or welfare or teaching sex ed in schools would also turn out. If it rains you have a low turnout and that benefits them because they know their base is going to show up rain or shine. How people choose a candidate and decide who they are voting for is a fascinating subject to me. There is no rhyme nor reason to a lot of it. |
If I didn't visit adult webmaster forums id have never heard of the guy
|
I think he's making a mistake by running as a Republican instead of starting a movement towards a third party. Even if it's just the first step to get the ball rolling, someone needs to do it.
I so wish he was 35-40 years old. |

He isn't in the Faux News stable so he ain't got a snowball's chance in hell.
|
He is one hell of an intelligent man, and a strict Constitutionalist, which I really admire. I would absolutely love to see him in the Oval Office, if it were possible given the circumstances in this country.
