Anyone ever go to Wildwood NJ ?
I lived there for 17 years and can't wait till the summer when I can go back. Nothing but hotties in bikinis in the day, and thongs and see throughs and stilletos at night:Graucho Its a phat summer resort town 5 miles long. It has nice beach and the biggest boardwalk on the east coast. Memorial Day weekend is soooooo awesome. Younger people17-28 or so bring out their pimped out rides and just cruize the strip, thousands of cars all day all night. Its a total mad house, people walk down the center of the street with their video cameras taping the girls and cars. Jeeps have kegs in the back people tapping it while they are driving:1orglaugh there is not enough police officers to control the town. Can't wait for those sunset to sunrise party days!

i spent a summer there working at one of the games on the boardwalk (the spot game - drop 5 metal round discs and cover up the whole red circle - and win a huge stuffed animal - of course no one ever wins). That was a great summer - 1985. Crazy fun town.

being canadian - the owner of the boardwalk game i worked at set me up with fake Phila. PA ID in case the state inspectors ever came around. One regret was that I missed the LiveAid concert in Philly that summer and being so close wish I would have tried harder to make it.

I've been there a couple times. Mostly family vacations though. It seems wildwood is mostly the philly crowd, wheras all the nyc people hit up seaside.

I lived in Wildwood Crest for about 3 yrs, from '79 to '81 and loved it. My sister lives in Rio Grande (right outside of Wildwood) and has been there for about 20 yrs now, so we go down every summer. Her husband manages one of the Piers every summer - either Mariner's or Morey's. I forget exactly which one it is, but it's the bigger of the two. Anyways, we get free tix to all of the rides and it's cool! :thumbsup

I stayed in Pleasantville for 4 months during the mid 80's when Hurricane Gloria rolled through. Pleasantville N.J. a.k.a. P-Funk , that town is ghetto fabulous baby.:thumbsup

I think the *adults* now a days are calling it *Childwood*
I personally can't stand it there. |
I haven't been back to Atlantic City since 85, but I remember it was a scary place in some parts and there were like huge lots that were totally rundown near the waterfront/casinos just waiting for a casino/speculator to buy it up. It was the worst urban blite I have ever seen. Wonder what its like these days?

I haven't thought about that town in years! I went there with my best friend in 10th grade and her "completely" over protective parents..we still found a way to sneak out though! Always, been one of those memories you just go back to when you think of fun!
thanks for making me think about it again:thumbsup |

It's pretty much the same. Huge, lit up Casinos - surrounded by slums. :glugglug |
I gotta scan my Wildwood waterpark pictures one day! It was fun! Is the Viper ride still there?
