Feds oppose Calif. Prop 19 to legalize marijuana
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101015/...zation_justice
"We will vigorously enforce the CSA against those individuals and organizations that possess, manufacture or distribute marijuana for recreational use, even if such activities are permitted under state law," Holder wrote. Politics is Funny! |
good. i do not support marijuana legalization.
|
"During the Bush administration, retail pot dispensaries across the state faced regular raids from federal anti-drug agents. Their owners were sometimes sentenced to decades in prison for drug trafficking."
At least he said they'll leave it alone for medical marijuana purposes, and only pursue recreational marijuana. Small steps? |
i love america.. a country where u could violate federal laws while obeying state laws..
or a country where u could have a legal gun in your car, but drive through another state and be arrested for felony gun violation.lol i <3 this country.. so many laws/regulations that it stopped making sense a while ago |
that means nothing. unless they plan of hiring 1000s of street patrolling dea agents they can go suck a cock.

So the state is pushing it to get taxes, do you really want the government to regulate marijuana, because that's what will happen. |

Pulled out my card, and that was that. As for employers, well I wouldn't know. :2 cents: |
I've talked to the folks behind Prop 19. I'm not really in favor of it, and I've written against it, because I think that any resulting stupidity could cause a backlash against legal medical users.
We went to see Cheech & Chong the other night, they sang their new song, "Get It Legal" which has a line, "I want to get it legal and I don't care how" -- dudes, says I, the Devil is in the details I don't want to be a party pooper, but I do care how... For some, Prop. 19 will be bad for business. |

once the gov starts taxing shit, you can bet selling pot on the street is gonna get a whole lot harder. |

given their track record, i'd say street dealers have a long prosperous career still ahead of them. street dealers aren't paying taxes on it now, why would you assume they would in the future? it is a no win situation for the feds. if they legalize and try to tax it to death, legalization (government controlled business) will fail. If they don't legalize and be cool about it, the black market continues to thrive. if they come down on medicinal use, they are viewed as evil, if they don't do anything, their war on drugs continues to be a sham. there is no "win" to be had. why do you think they hate marijuana so much. |

those that oppose prop 19 have no clue about why its a godd idea and how eventually it will lead to good things..
the road will be long and hard, but it will be worth it.. the fed govt doesnt give a shit about you and thats what most people dont understand.. the FDA approves chemicals that are far worse than marijuana and i am talking about food additives, etc.. the fed doesnt want marijuana approved because the pharm companies know that marijuana treats so many ailments and the pharm companies can not reproduce the effects in a lab.. also, marijuana can not be patented in any form and thats why pharm has a problem with it... wake up people and stop believing everything the govt feeds you.. this anti marijuana campaign is nothing more than big business trying to interfere with something only because they cant make money off of it... . |

how is that any different than the pro-marijuana push? wake up indeed. |
