There was nothing on TV . . . . (pics)

goodgirl came into town, and we could not find anything good on TV, so we jumped in the car. Been a pretty nice day.

Buddy always has fun. I asked him if he wanted to go for a ride and he jumped in the car and waited for two hours while we got it together.

Thanks, and yeah, I was wondering how much that would come into play compared to my last visit there in May. It was pretty hot there though. No snow at all. No water anywhere, really.

The only thing dangerous about the river might be spraining an ankle walking across the rocks.

My dog is the same way, all I do is look at him and say "Ride?" and he goes crazy running to the door, back to me, stares at me for a second, bolts back to the door. I open the door and ZOOM he's out to the car in a instant.

Buddy looks like a cool dog and should have his own blog. I have a border collie mix that can't get enough car rides too.

closer 10-16-2010 07:41 AM

I'd have to drive for miles and miles to find a bear ... you're fortunate to live that close to nature!

That was 200+ miles from home. I have to go find them.

Would you believe he is a golden retriever mix? http://www.gotbuddy.com/dna-test-for-dogs/

They really are. Every time I go there I am equally amazed.

baddog 10-16-2010 09:12 AM

Took Buddy for a walk. It is so nice here that I had to take a second walk . . . this time with my camera. This is going to be a good day for pics, I think.

John-ACWM 10-16-2010 09:21 AM

Beautiful dog and I am always happy to hear about well behaved dogs, says a lot.

quiet 10-16-2010 09:42 AM

great pics. we had a run in with a grizzy in town the other day, didn't have a camera on us though. My 7 years in Whistler, I saw bears almost every day other than winter of course. But they were all black bears. No fear of humans though, during hikes out there, we'd clap our hands, yell, etc for them to get off the trail. about a 50% success rate lol. Grizzies are on a whole other level.

baddog 10-16-2010 10:45 PM

As suspected, today was an amazing day for taking photos. Here are a few samples from today

It is really difficult to pick a pic to show. Yosemite is amazing. It is like nature used Photoshop on it or something. You can see all the pics at http://www.gotbaddog.com/photos-from...national-park/

No. I just spend a lot of time with him, walk him twice a day, every day I am home. It does not matter how cold, wet, hot or whatever, we walk.

During the walks we play games. They work. I talk about it on his blog. I have been tempted to get a dog whistle and whistle train him though. I am sure he could pick it up.

Damn, here I am crying because I saw a picture of someone else's dog and I can't even help my own to stay alive. Buddy looks like Scruffy when Scruffy was a pup, but Scruffy's brown and black. Beautiful boy.

He's got cancer, and he probably won't live to see the spring.

I wish you, Goodgirl, and Buddy all the best. Scruffy is on his last legs and its killing me.

Here's Scruffy one month ago. Beautiful boy doesn't understand the concept of cancer and death, yet he never cries and he loves the smaller dogs we have here. Just a perfect friend.

Your dog, your wife - forgive me if you're not married - and your life are beautiful. For me - the pics you post are life-affirming. You're a beautiful free spirit who lives by his own rules - and I believe your rules put your family and your loved ones ahead of your own well being.

An idiotic thing to post on GFY, perhaps, but you strike me as an honest man who will do anything to protect his family and friends.

You have my absolute, complete respect. And with my dogs - four here with me now - all it takes is time. We all go out for walks, we all swim together. Time goes by and we grow closer.

You are a good dog. Woof woof!

Going to hit the sack, but keep the pics coming. I appreciate them. The love you share at GFY cannot be matched by anyone.

Take care, more pics!

I am really sorry to hear about Scruffy. I screwed up on our road trip last April and thought that I had lost Buddy in Indiana. I was pretty messed up for a couple hours. I do not look forward to the time when I have to put him down.

Scruffy looks really happy and that is really all we have, memories. BTW, would you believe Buddy is not a border but rather a golden/aussie mix?
