Tabs in an email client, what they hell were they thinking?!

I never use the tabs, and find the quick filters in V3 very handy

Many people said same when tabbed browsing came out first. I know reading email is different than browsing, but still. Its human nature to resist change most of the time, and later they cant live without it.

I love tabs in firefox, loved them the minute they came out (heck, loved them in opera). But email is something totally different. Tried the new thunderbird for a week and hated the interface. Not to mention the fact that it uses a lot more memory and is slower than TB2.

I used thebat! for about 6 years and switched to thunderbird because of db corruption issues with thebat!. (I keep 100000+ msgs in my email client). Any problems with that? On their forums I could find a couple of threads about that problem in recent versions and the admins were pretty clueless about it.

I love Thunderbird, I use nothing else for my email.
