Best vacation you've ever taken? [pics]

I love to travel and try to hit new places every time I can get away. My last major trip was to Nicaragua and I thought it was fantastic for a lot of reasons...great people and food, very cheap, wide range of geographical features etc. I personally like getting off the beaten path and exploring places that maybe aren't your typical destinations for most tourists.

That trip, as with most of my travels, was the result of a ringing endorsement from someone else. So I would like to know the one or two best places that you have ever visited and why. Post pics if you have them.

it's a toss up for me between Maui and Cabo, but if i had to choose one, i'd say Cabo.

I've heard great things about Nicaragua!

I realize you where there just for a vacation, but did you have a chance to try and get any work done online? How's the internet reliability/stability if you're able to answer.

Costa Rica, which should be similar to Nicaragua and the Tuscan Coast of Italy. My two favorites so far.

Dragonfruit FTW. My wife and I passed by a dragonfruit farm here in the Philippines and it was trippy--they are grown using CONCRETE POLES. Looked like cactuses against concrete poles.

I went to Tobago in 2005, that was great. Really good windsurfing, turquise blue water and crystal clear water. Not a tourist trap.

I've heard Costa Rica is a very nice country - if you avoid the areas where the drug companies are operating.

Backpacking across Cuba and through Venezuela rank at the top of mine. Off the beaten path, no plan, just going.

Best vacation I ever had was to Thailand with Eva a few years back. And not for the reasons some might think. LOL

Then there was the vacation/honeymoon when we drove from California to Monument Valley.

Thanks for the input and pics. We actually drove all over Morocco as well a couple of years ago. We did Essaouira, Marrakech, Ait Ben Haddou and Merzouga. It was fantastic as well and very affordable. Driving was fucking insane in Marrakech, but other than that it was no problem. I always prefer to rent a car if possible.

Anyone been to Barbados? Thats my next destination.
