SEO Question: Ignore certain words in your blog
Anyone know a sufficient way to get google to ignore certain words that appear in your keyword density? I can't believe there isn't some sort of plugin in wordpress for this.. (or maybe I haven't found it yet)
For instance: You have a blog with 20 posts on your index page... since all posts were made in October, "October" ends up being near the top of your keyword density list... :uhoh ATTN Baddog: Please don't charge me 500$/hour to answer this question... :disgust |
Simple
<word rel="nofollow">October</word> New HTML5 |

LMFAO
You know it never ceases to amaze me the number of people who know that Google somehow has the genius to make the world's greatest most sophisticated search engine -- but yet concoct all manner of SEO theories based on the premise that Google are utterly and hopelessly fucktarded morons. |

Why do you want the word October on your site that many times? Remove it from the code.
If you really must show the dates, make png's for the overused words like "October". |

October 21st, October 22nd, etc I asked this question before and I think you responded with the pic thing I'd rather use the word rel in this case though |
Surely, Google being Google, they would ignore (devalue) common words like months, days of the week, times, Etc. The majority of people that work at Google aren't mentally deficient.
|
Use a theme that doesn't name the month in posts. Or, wait until November.

It makes much more sense that if you DONT want a word overused on your site, you DONT put it on the site that many times. Remove the posted_on php call in the theme, done deal. |

Google is fully aware of blog posts and dates attached to each. Google October, and you will only find 4,000,000 in which not 1 of them are blogs. If Google was going to rank everyone based on the use of the Month in the blog posts, there would be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000+ results on constant rotation. The fact that it shows up in your webmaster tools does not apply to the algo used in ranking your site based on Keyword Density.

why bother man. it's not going to affect anything.
|
For starters, why not tell us about the word-rel attribute and what it means/does.

Man it's hilarious who's advice you've chosen to take and who you've chosen to ignore. |

There's been 3 options majority - ignore it / doesn't matter word-rel picture replacement... (would be a bit tedious) which one should I do? |
My guess is if they think October is a recurring theme on your blog you better have a blog about October. Otherwise try writing some better content.

Why do people get so caught up and waste time with things like this... Really.. It's not going to be an issue so just move on and focus on building more sites, pages, networks etc.

what a fucking idiot.

if the word October is ranking too high in your keyword density, and the only time you are using it is for the date, the solution is pretty simple.
Add more text. |
Don't delete the date function though, google picks up that your a blog and reads the date as an updated post. The date feature is beneficial
