Just Watched Nightmare On Elm Street 2010
I love horror movies but have been so busy lately I have not had much time to relax. I took a couple hours tonight to have a couple glasses of wine and watch a horror flick. The remake was amazing and the special effects were pretty cool on my new TV. I would recommend watching this movie this time of year so close to Halloween. I'm getting ready for bed and hope I sleep with no nightmares. Good night GFY.

Im mixed on it as you did get to see some prequel type shit, but in the end it really didnt show us anything new... the nightmares were even ripped from earlier 'freddies'...
the graphics were good, yes |
I'll cuddle with you if that helps any

the idea of this version was to show you the developement of the character and how freddie became freddie why he is the monster who the kids are who the 2 girls who sing 1-2 freddies coming for you I thought it was very well made and im a horror junkie
I just watched the making of the excorsist on Discovery very intersting |
Love those Elm Street series.

I loved it as well... And effects were pretty cool too.
|
Its another one of those "why the fuck do they need to do a remake of a masterpiece" films.
Ooohhh those effects sure are swell, and we'll just get some jerkoff to replace Robert Englund as Freddy...right. Hollywood twats. |
I thought it was a pretty good remake.
|
I did not like it

it was stupid and they changed the story line. what i found out is after the first movie wes cravin sold the rights. bad gamble. he said he didnt know if it would be a hit.
|
sucked big time IMO
|
Fun fact...written by the guy that created the recent Battlestar Galactica series -- which just happened to be pretty damn good.

I loved the first one and from there the movies went downhill...I started getting bored of the whole series until Freddy Vs. Jason.
The remake was weird for me...I hated the idea of it and hated the idea of Englund getting replaced. That said, I really liked Jackie Earle Hailey's performance as Freddy. He took Freddy back to his more sinister roots. My biggest bitch with the original series was that Freddy went from the boogeyman in the shadows to this stupid bullshit gameshow host of death....it became all about the one liners and comedy bits and stopped being about the scares. yaaawwwnnnn The remake turned Freddy back to the sadistic, fucked up child murderer that he was supposed to be. It was admittedly very difficult to get used to to Hailey's voice as Freddy after so many years of Englund doing it. I still have my talking Freddy Kreuger doll with his voice even. I think it was the same for most movie audiences as well...this new take on Freddy. Like most, I grow tired of the remakes, etc. but the reason Hollywood keeps churning them out: they make money. Look at the Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes. Both made more than their original counterparts. Saw keeps turning out sequels at a rate one per year. The cash register keeps on ringing. |
for what it's worth -- the original was pretty awesome , even the effects. i was surprised how effective it was and held up when i re-watched it recently

didn't like it

what I like about it going back...Freddy was more in the shadows and dark, so you couldn't quite see him....this was always more scary than having him fully lit...today's movie audiences don't seem to be able to appreciate nuances like that....they need the villain out in full light, cracking jokes and doing anything but actually being scary or trying to be... |
