Sub-Forums for Sell and Buy

What do you guys think of this idea?

Create sub-forums in the sell and buy section. There's a lot of people looking to buy and sell their stuff, especially content guys with 15 threads they bump all at one. That's not a problem, but can we make different sections for example:

Sell and Buy Forum
- Buy and Sell Links/Traffic
- Buy and Sell Content
- Buy and Sell Domains/Websites

It would be quite a bit cleaner if things were that way, in my opinion. For you guys who frequent those sections, what do you think?

Also, I know there's another VERY popular forum that also asks you to select a radio button, with the choices being WTB or WTS. This is also another option I'd like to see for these forums.

I like this idea.

I vote no.

Matyko 10-25-2010 11:48 AM

its just fine as it is...

The way it is now: better for sellers, because people who weren't specially looking for what you are selling will also find your sales thread.

the way it is now: better for buyers, because sometimes you come across interesting offers you otherwise wouldn't have found.

One of the most annoying things on the internet are boards filled with subforums for every tiny thing...

I personally don't like sub-forums . . . but on a personally note www.cpimp.com is a kickass site, keep up the good work :thumbsup

Maybe , buy maybe not :)

CIVMatt 10-25-2010 12:06 PM

I wish, it's a gaggled mess over there

tiger 10-25-2010 12:11 PM

Its fine as is. Just stop letting people sell things on the main board and it would become more active as well.

C H R I S 10-25-2010 12:20 PM

Good idea.

CaptainHowdy 10-25-2010 12:20 PM

I'm into mess so no...

mineistaken 10-25-2010 02:19 PM

yes, because its a mess. especially idiots spamming 10+ threads a day

TeenCat 10-25-2010 02:20 PM

i vote to merge all forums into one

Klen 10-25-2010 02:24 PM

One of solutions is to make a mandatory selection of [WTS] and [WTB] so it can be more clear.

leedsfan 10-25-2010 02:28 PM

or we could stop a certain guy bumping his posts 15 times a day and the entire problem would be solved.

wild johnny 10-25-2010 04:26 PM

Too many sub forums gets annoying, IMO....

NaughtyRob 10-25-2010 04:28 PM

I vote no, but one thing that bugs me is that it should be called Buy and Sell. lol

mikeet 10-25-2010 04:32 PM

Simple is better, no need to complicate shit

Agree.
:2 cents:

Just make a seperate section for sologirlcontent to post in...

lagcam 10-25-2010 08:28 PM

I like how it is now, because even though there is a lot of crap, sometimes you see things that you didn't know you were interested in.

A better change would be for each page in fucking around to have a link to the buy and sell section. Many people never go there.

Brujah 10-25-2010 09:19 PM

Keep it simple. If you have 10 different things to sell, post them in 1 thread. Some other marketplace forums limit 1 thread or 1 bump per 24 hours, but it would need a moderator. A Sell and Buy moderator might be more effective in there, with the role of organization like merging threads, and telling that 1 (or 2) bulk spammer to knock it the fuck off.

PornMD 10-25-2010 10:29 PM

There should be a better way to indicate buying or selling (or trading for that matter). Either have subforums for buying and trading or do what DP does and have WTB, WTS, and WTT options to append to the thread. As it is, I have to search WTB, buy, want, need, and look on each page, and probably still miss some threads of people wanting to buy something. It's a pain to just go through all of them and try to scan for such threads when people keep using different terms.

I vote keep it the way it is... Why? More traffic is concentrated. More eyeballs.

Another big (but mainstream--not DP) WM forum did this in the past--segmented the fuck out of their forums. THey switched back after a few years. The diffuse traffic was the reason.
